According to Allkpop, on September 16th, the BTS fan community, known as ARMY, collectively used the hashtag #MinHeeJinOut in social media posts (or Twitter) to express their opposition to the return of former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin.
BTS fans have made this hashtag a global trending topic, with over 870,000 posts as of the morning of September 17th.
In their statement, ARMY said: "As members of the BTS ARMY community, we have witnessed misinformation spreading in our name. Through this statement, we want to clarify our position regarding the ongoing management situation."
First and foremost, we are united in our opposition to Min Hee Jin's return as CEO of HYBE's subsidiary, ADOR. We are aware of her actions during BTS's military service, her consultations with sorcerers to harm BTS, and her attempts to manipulate the Korean media to create negative public opinion about BTS and ARMY.
Given this situation, we consider any media narrative or baseless accusation in support of Min Hee Jin to be part of her scheme. We also know that BTS currently lacks the freedom to express their opinions, which reinforces our position.”
ARMY concluded: “We urge former CEO Min Hee Jin to stop using artists and fan communities as a shield to advance her plans and spread misinformation.”
Min Hee Jin was dismissed from her position as CEO of ADOR (the management company of NewJeans) on August 27th. On September 11th, NewJeans unexpectedly held a livestream to denounce HYBE, demanding that Min Hee Jin be reinstated as CEO and that ADOR be restored to its original state by September 25th.
Later, Jungkook shocked everyone by posting messages on Instagram with the content "Artists are innocent," "Don't exploit them," which was interpreted as support for the group NewJeans.
Jungkook's actions drew criticism from HYBE staff on the community site Blind. There were even speculations that Jungkook and ARMY were siding with Min Hee Jin. This is one of the reasons why BTS fans intensified their campaign against Min Hee Jin on social media.
