According to Allkpop, recently, one of the largest and most influential BTS fan accounts decided to close down following Suga's drunk driving scandal.
ARMY52Hz is one of the most comprehensive BTS fan sites, providing various information about music releases, links to the most popular streaming sites.
The ARMY52Hz website has played a significant role in connecting millions of ARMY (BTS fandom) around the world. This website was even suspected to be run by BTS's management company because they work so professionally, creatively and methodically.
However, after Suga's drunk driving incident, the site's operator left a message saying, "Everyone is suffering. We demand a quick decision," and closed all accounts, including the site.
One netizen commented, “Such a big account that always works hard posted about the recent Suga incident, and as a result, both their website and Twitter account were shut down. This situation is definitely a big blow to the overall atmosphere of the fandom.”
Under the post with nearly 80,000 views on theqoo, many comments said that Suga and his management company Big Hit Music as well as HYBE Group really made BTS fans lose patience. This also shows that Suga's scandal has divided Korean fans more than international fans.
In another development, this morning, August 13, in front of the HYBE Group headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, many wreaths appeared from BTS fans, asking Suga to leave the group.
ARMY (BTS fandom name) who anonymously organized this protest stated to Sports Kyunghyang that: "This is not a coordinated action by the entire fandom, as these wreaths were sent by individuals.
We are holding this protest because no action has been taken after HYBE, Big Hit Music, and Suga made false statements."
They added that if Big Hit Music does not issue a further statement, they will consider escalating the protest by organizing a truck protest.
Since Suga was arrested by police on August 6 for driving an electric scooter while drunk, public criticism has intensified. Fans have expressed disappointment after Big Hit Music and Suga repeatedly lied.
Suga and his company both said that the vehicle Suga was riding was an “electric kickboard”. However, the police countered that the vehicle Suga was riding was an “electric scooter with a seat”, not a low-speed electric vehicle under 25km/h. This was also proven by CCTV.
Suga also claimed that he only "had one beer", although his blood alcohol level was measured at 0.227%, indicating a very high level of intoxication.
