Foxconn is the world's largest electronics manufacturer and a key partner for many well-known brands such as Apple. However, Foxconn's ambitions don't stop at electronics assembly. The company is looking to pursue the rapidly growing and highly competitive electric vehicle business. At previous "Hon Hai Tech Day" events, the company also showcased electric vehicle prototypes.

This year, Foxconn chairman Young Liu kicked off the annual event on October 18th alongside Nvidia's CEO to introduce "a new level of data center for a wide range of applications."
Meanwhile, Nvidia is renowned for its graphics processing units (GPUs) – the backbone of modern video games and now an indispensable pillar in the race to develop generative AI.
"Together, we will help the entire industry move even faster into the new AI era," Liu said on stage.
The "factories" that the two leaders referred to include the digitization of production and inspection processes, AI-based electric vehicles, the development of robotic platforms, and several language-generated AI services.
According to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Foxconn has the expertise and scale to build AI factories around the world. If successful, Foxconn's customers could use these systems to provide AI generative services, using simulations to train automated machinery such as industrial robots and autonomous vehicles.
Previously, the US announced stricter controls on the export of advanced chips to China to curb Beijing's advances in cutting-edge technology. The ban affects Nvidia chips that are still being sold to mainland China. Nvidia is a supplier to many electronics manufacturers there, including Foxconn.
