Nearly 10,000 students participated in the English Talent competition.

To promote the movement of learning and self-improvement in English, and to enhance foreign language skills, especially communication and presentation skills in English, the Center for the Development of Young Scientists and Technologists, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Council and the Vietnam-America International Joint Stock Company, is organizing the 2nd English Talent Competition.

During the first week of the competition (from June 26th to July 1st), nearly 10,000 students participated in the test.

Participants are young members of youth organizations and children in Ho Chi Minh City who can compete individually, divided into two categories: Category A for primary school students and Category B for secondary school students.

The preliminary round consists of 3 weeks of testing. Each week's test includes 20 questions to test reading skills and 5 questions to test listening skills.

Contestants have 15 minutes to complete their test. After the online preliminary round, the organizers will select the top 50 contestants from each category with the highest scores each week to advance to the Semi-finals.

In addition to the awards in each category, this year, the organizers will select the 5 most impressive videos to give awards to.

Outstanding finalists will have time to prepare a mind map on the following topics: self-introduction and presentation of thoughts and proposed solutions to promote and introduce the historical landmarks, relics, and activities with historical and cultural value of Ho Chi Minh City to friends both domestically and internationally.
