| Many sections of the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway construction site have begun the road surface layer construction. |
Regarding disbursement, the project has withdrawn VND 16,969 billion out of a total allocated capital of VND 22,210 billion, reaching over 76% of the total capital (in 2025 alone, over VND 1,711 billion has been withdrawn, reaching over 25% of the annual plan). The investor stated that they are urging contractors to complete the necessary documents for capital disbursement, ensuring that by June, disbursement will reach 30% of the annual plan (equal to the national average).
Currently, all 95 bridges on the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway have had their girders and bridge decks installed, and the remaining work is being completed.
The entire expressway has nearly 79 km of roadbed that requires preloading to allow settlement (preloading takes 6-10 months). To date, 21 km of settlement has been removed, and contractors are now unloading the crushed stone base and asphalt concrete layers. Of this, approximately 10 km of crushed stone base and 3.5 km of asphalt paving have been completed.
The remaining section of the roadbed (58 km) is expected to be ready for load removal between July and November. The investor stated that this section of the roadbed will be constructed in stages, with load removal occurring as construction progresses. "We guarantee the completion of the asphalt concrete layer along the entire route before November 30th," a representative from the My Thuan Project Management Board committed.
Regarding other auxiliary construction components of the project, such as fences, guardrails, and signs, 50% of the work has been completed to date. Installation is being carried out along sections where asphalt concrete has been laid.

Construction on the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway is ongoing day and night, with 234 construction teams, nearly 2,900 personnel, and almost 1,000 pieces of machinery. |
According to the My Thuan Project Management Board, thanks to the attention and guidance of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Construction , and local leaders, the project has now basically resolved the obstacles related to materials and land. The investor has continuously launched emulation campaigns, requiring contractors to work overtime, supplement machinery and personnel, and organize construction day and night to overcome the heat and rain, making up for the previous delays.
"Time is running out, and it's the rainy season, but we and the contractors are committed to mobilizing all resources and accelerating construction to bring the project to completion before December 19th," the investor's representative pledged.
