Nearly 250 billion VND to support the Cuban people

As the unit assigned to preside over the national campaign, Vice President, General Secretary, and Executive Director of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society Nguyen Hai Anh said that immediately after the launching ceremony on the morning of August 13, millions of people participated in supporting. Only 30 hours after the launching ceremony, we made a miracle - that is, achieving the minimum target of the Program - 65 billion VND. Even more touching, after 48 hours, the amount of support mobilized for the Cuban people exceeded the set target by more than 200% - more than 130 billion VND. That affirms that Cuba has a very special place in the hearts of every Vietnamese person.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hai Anh, the Central Committee of the Association is actively coordinating with the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam, the Cuban Red Cross, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and relevant ministries and branches to prepare well to transfer the support money from the Vietnamese people to the Cuban people in a timely, earliest, and most transparent manner.

This result also affirms the spirit of solidarity, loyalty and steadfastness that the majority of Vietnamese people have for the Cuban people as well as the affection and affection that millions of Vietnamese people wish to send to the Cuban people. More specifically, the results achieved affirm the trust of the Vietnamese people, the Vietnamese community at home and abroad, placed through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, the leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society affirmed.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hai Anh, the results of the movement affirm the strength of the spirit of solidarity among ethnic groups, the strength of the Vietnamese people, of Vietnamese compatriots at home and abroad; of the collective and of the spirit of humanity, solidarity, and gratitude "when drinking water, remember its source".

Speaking to the press about the transparency of the source of support, Mr. Nguyen Hai Anh said that the reception work in Vietnam is always public and transparent. We hope that this spirit will continue to spread more strongly and widely so that there will be more resources to support and help the Cuban people overcome difficulties, affirming and demonstrating to the world that Vietnam is always and forever by Cuba's side, as Cuba has been, is and will forever be by Vietnam's side. The special and loyal friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba will always shine, Mr. Nguyen Hai Anh emphasized.

The campaign is chaired by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, in coordination with central departments, ministries, branches and organizations on the occasion of the Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Year, commemorating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1960-2025); taking place for 65 days, starting from August 13 (the 99th anniversary of the birth of leader Fidel Castro) to October 16, 2025 to support the Cuban people with food, necessities and sustainable humanitarian activities.
