Nearly 31 million tourists came to Hanoi in 11 months

In the first 11 months of 2025, Hanoi welcomed 30.94 million visitors, a sharp increase over the same period. Product development activities, improving service quality and expanding promotion have created momentum for tourism growth in the capital.

November 2025 continued to show a steady growth momentum of Hanoi tourism with increases in both the number of visitors, revenue and accommodation capacity. Destination development programs, product diversification and expansion of domestic and international cooperation were implemented synchronously, creating positive changes for the capital's tourism market in the fourth quarter.

According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in November, the city welcomed 2.5 million visitors, an increase of 14.7% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international visitors reached 851,100, an increase of 25%, domestic visitors reached 1.65 million, an increase of 10%. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at 11,360 billion VND, an increase of 18.4%.

In the first 11 months of 2025, Hanoi welcomed 30.94 million visitors, up 22.1% over the same period. Tourism revenue reached 120,600 billion VND, up 20.7%. These figures reflect the continued expansion of market appeal as the system of tourism products, services and events is continuously improved.

The high demand for tourism has helped Hanoi's accommodation system maintain effective operations. Room occupancy rate in November reached 73.4%, up 6.3 percentage points over the same period in 2024. The city currently has 3,761 accommodation establishments with more than 71,000 rooms, including 65 establishments ranked from 1 to 5 stars with nearly 10,000 rooms. The system of 58 service establishments meeting standards for dining, shopping, entertainment and health care continues to play a supporting role in improving the quality of destinations.

The tourism workforce is maintained with 1,921 international travel agencies, 591 domestic travel agencies, 6,898 international tour guides and 2,620 domestic tour guides, contributing to ensuring service capacity during the peak season at the end of the year.

The work of building and expanding destinations is being carried out in many localities. In November, the Department of Tourism organized a tourism development conference in Phuc Loc commune to orient management and improve product efficiency. Survey programs in Phu Dong and Thu Lam communes help connect travel businesses with suburban destinations. Activities participating in the International Craft Village Conservation and Development Festival at Thang Long Imperial Citadel from November 14 to 18 create opportunities to introduce the depth of culture and traditional craft villages of Hanoi.

In the field of regional connectivity, Hanoi participated in the tourism promotion delegation in the southwestern provinces from November 4 to 7, promoting cooperation in market development. Workshops on evaluating night tourism products and community tourism continued to supplement the basis for expanding unique experiences.

Propaganda and promotion activities were enhanced with 75 news and articles introducing tourism activities during the month. The 2025 Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival and the third Hanoi Autumn Festival were two events that created clear cultural highlights, attracting a large number of people and tourists. Ao Dai performances, City Tour bus parades and exhibition spaces were widely communicated, contributing to increasing the recognition of the capital's tourism.

In addition, new tourism products continue to be promoted such as the night tour "Ngoc Son - mysterious night", the program "Museum Night", the wild sunflower season in Ba Vi, the daisy road or check-in points in Dan Phuong. Hanoi also receives the attention of the international press, thereby enhancing the image of the destination in the world market.

The social networking site "Hanoi City Department of Tourism" posted 36 articles this month, providing timely information about events, cultural values ​​and tourism products, attracting thousands of interactions.

Market promotion activities were strongly implemented. Hanoi coordinated with Vinh Long province to organize a tourism promotion program from November 4 to 7, and continued to complete the cooperation content with the Ile-de-France region for the period 2026-2029. From November 16 to 26, the working delegation of city leaders attended the opening ceremony of the direct flight to Copenhagen and organized a promotion conference in Norway and Sweden, creating opportunities to expand the Northern European market. The city also attended the 2026 tourism promotion conference in Ninh Binh and conducted research on key international tourist markets.

These results show that Hanoi tourism is maintaining positive growth momentum, continuing to be an important economic sector contributing to the overall development of the capital in the coming time.
