Get closer to students through the smallest things.

Born in 1990, with 13 years of experience in education , including 6 years as the Head of the Youth Union, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan has always believed that the Youth Union's work is not just about organizing activities, but also about accompanying students on their journey. At Ba Don No. 1 Primary School, many students are familiar with the image of the Head of the Youth Union always present in activities, from flag-raising ceremonies and experiential learning to private conversations with students.

According to Ms. Nhan, each student has their own thoughts and feelings and needs to be cared for properly. Based on her interactions with students, in the 2021-2022 school year, she and the school developed the "School Psychological Counseling Room" model. This is considered one of the models that has made a significant impact on the activities of the Youth Union at Ba Don No. 1 Primary School over the years.

The counseling space is designed to be student-friendly, allowing students to meet directly with teachers, submit letters through the suggestion box, or participate in thematic activities. The content focuses on interpersonal skills, building beautiful friendships, preventing school violence, self-protection skills, and overcoming psychological difficulties in learning and life. According to Ms. Nhan, the most important thing in the Youth Union's work is creating a close relationship so that students trust them.

“Many elementary school students are still shy and don't know how to share the problems they face. When teachers take the time to listen and support them, they will gradually become more open and confident in their studies and in life. I think that for the Youth Union's activities to be effective, we must first understand the students,” Ms. Nhan shared.

Based on this model, many activities focusing on life skills education, promoting school violence prevention, and educating students on ethics and lifestyle are regularly organized. The student union also maintains online playgrounds, experiential activities, and recognizes exemplary individuals and good deeds to create a positive environment for students. Notably, in recent years, there have been no cases of students from the school engaging in social vices, school violence, or drowning accidents.

Contributing to the revitalization of the Youth Pioneer Movement.

Not only is she dedicated to supporting students, but teacher Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan has also contributed to the innovation of many Youth Union activities at the school. From 2021 to the present, under the guidance of the Head of the Youth Union, the Youth Union of Ba Don No. 1 Primary School has continuously implemented many practical models such as "Online Junior Reporters," "Creative and Experiential Recess Time," "Young Pioneers' Diary Following Uncle Ho's Teachings," "Civilized School, Building Beautiful Friendships, Saying No to School Violence," etc.

Alongside skills-based education activities, many charitable programs are also regularly maintained, such as "Bicycles of Love - Helping Children Get to School," giving gifts to disadvantaged students, building youth projects, or organizing life skills education programs for children.

In the 2025-2026 school year alone, the Youth Union awarded 46 gifts to students from disadvantaged backgrounds and donated bicycles to students who overcame difficulties and excelled in their studies. Thanks to innovative approaches to organizing activities, the Youth Union of Ba Don No. 1 Primary School has consistently been a leading unit in Youth Union work and children's movements for many years. Students from the school have achieved many outstanding results in international English and Math competitions, sports , life skills, and experiential activities. In the 2025-2026 school year, the Youth Union won the Style Award at the national schoolyard synchronized performance competition.

In 2025 alone, she won first prize in the provincial-level competition for outstanding teachers in charge of the Youth Union, and was recognized as a "National Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings."

According to the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union and Chairman of the Provincial Children's Council, Dinh Trung Hieu, what is admirable about teacher Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan is not only her achievements but also her sense of responsibility and closeness to her students. “Ms. Nhan is a teacher in charge of the Children's Council who always proactively seeks out new methods that suit the psychology of children today. Many models she has implemented have not only created a ripple effect in the school but also contributed to building a safe and friendly school environment,” said Mr. Dinh Trung Hieu.
