Today, December 13th, rice prices in the Mekong Delta region remained relatively stable, with fresh rice and paddy prices staying high.
Specifically, regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the price of IR 504 raw rice has decreased by 200 VND, fluctuating between 9,900 and 10,050 VND/kg; the price of IR 504 finished rice has decreased by 100 VND, fluctuating between 12,100 and 12,300 VND/kg.

Regarding by-products, prices fluctuate between 5,900 and 9,100 VND/kg. Currently, the price of fragrant rice bran ranges from 9,000 to 9,100 VND/kg; the price of dry rice bran has decreased by 150 VND, fluctuating between 5,750 and 5,850 VND/kg.
Reports from various localities today indicate low rice supply and stable prices for all types of rice purchased by warehouses. In Sa Dec and Lap Vo ( Dong Thap ), rice supplies are low, with some large warehouses buying slowly or halting purchases, resulting in slightly lower prices for bulk rice. Fragrant and sticky rice prices remain stable. Meanwhile, in local markets, warehouse purchases are sporadic, and prices for all types of rice are unchanged. In An Cu – Cai Be (Tien Giang), supplies are sporadic, sticky rice prices have decreased by 100 dong compared to yesterday, with most rice being of poor quality and few good quality grains.
At retail markets, rice prices remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Regular rice fluctuated around 17,000 – 18,000 VND/kg. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price at 28,000 VND/kg. Fragrant rice is offered at higher prices ranging from 20,000 – 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice 17,000 – 18,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice 21,500 VND/kg; long-grain Thai fragrant rice 20,000 – 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice 22,000 VND/kg; common white rice 17,500 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 21,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice 18,500 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice 21,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice 22,500 VND/kg.
Similarly, with rice, the price of fresh rice remains high, and demand is sluggish. According to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the current price of IR 50404 rice (fresh) fluctuates between 7,800 and 8,000 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice fluctuates between 8,600 and 8,800 VND/kg; OM 380 rice fluctuates around 7,200 VND/kg; OM 18 rice (fresh) fluctuates between 9,200 and 9,400 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) fluctuates between 9,200 and 9,400 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 rice fluctuates between 9,200 and 9,400 VND/kg; and Nhat rice is at 7,800 to 8,000 VND/kg.
In many localities today, transactions are slow, with low demand. In Soc Trang, there are few inquiries from buyers, and prices are low. Farmers are offering to sell, but transactions are slow. In Tra Vinh, demand for rice is even slower, and rice prices have fallen, mainly due to pre-ordered rice. In Long An, buying and selling transactions are slow, and many warehouses have stopped buying due to low demand.
On the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained stable today compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), standard 5% broken rice was priced at US$509/ton; 25% broken rice at US$477/ton; and 100% broken rice at US$405/ton.
