Meeting generations of female officers who have made many contributions to the advancement of women and gender equality in the Army

( Bqp.vn ) - On the morning of October 11, in Hanoi, the Committee for the Advancement of Women of the Ministry of National Defense organized a meeting with generations of female officers who have made many contributions to the work for the advancement of women (VSTBCPN) and gender equality in the Army.

Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Head of the Ministry of National Defense's Committee for Women's Affairs attended and spoke at the meeting. Attending the meeting were Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Head of the Ministry of National Defense's Committee for Women's Affairs; representatives of ministries, departments and branches, and 150 female delegates, who have made great contributions to the work of women's affairs and gender equality in the Army.

This is a practical activity towards the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union, widely promoting the 80-year tradition of building, fighting and growing of the heroic Vietnam People's Army and the tradition of women in the Army; encouraging the team of female cadres specializing in women's work - those who directly advise on the work of VSTBCPN and gender equality in the entire army to continue to make efforts, strive, and achieve more and more outstanding achievements, contributing to building a strong Army, firmly protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh praised and highly appreciated the maturity and dedication of the staff of the VSTBCPN and gender equality work in the Army. Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh assessed that in the overall achievements of women in the entire army over the past 30 years, with the spirit of initiative, sensitivity, creativity, always closely following the grassroots units, the Military Women's Committee and the system of women's organizations in the entire army have gradually matured, worthy of the position and role as a strategic advisory body on women's work and the women's movement in the entire army; as the Standing Body of the VSTBCPN Committees at all levels, directly advising and making important contributions to the work for the advancement of women and gender equality in the Army. The VSTBCPN Committee of the Ministry of National Defense at all levels promptly advises and proposes to the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, the General Department of Politics, Party committees, commanders and political agencies at all levels to issue leadership and direction policies, develop specific programs, contents, measures, regimes and policies to comprehensively, synchronously and effectively implement VSTBCPN and gender equality work in the Army.

Despite facing many difficulties and challenges in the past, generations of leaders and commanders of the Military Women's Committee, Women's Committees of agencies and units under the Central Military Commission - Ministry of National Defense and officers specializing in women's work have contributed their efforts, united their hearts, and marched together in the army, creating a non-stop journey of enthusiastic hearts, full of aspirations to contribute to the work of VSTBCPN and gender equality, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh emphasized.

In order for the work of VSTBCPN and gender equality in the Army to continue to develop, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh requested agencies and units to strengthen the leadership and direction of Party committees, commanders, political commissars, and political officers, and well organize the emulation movement "Women in the Army with intelligence and courage, completing tasks well, building happy families, worthy of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new era"; build and replicate good models and creative ways of doing things, strive to build women in the Army who meet the criteria of "Intelligence, Courage, Discipline, and Humanity"; promptly commend, reward, and have preferential mechanisms and policies for individuals with outstanding achievements. Promote the role of the VSTBCPN Committees at all levels, promptly advise and propose to the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, the General Department of Politics, Party committees, commanders and political agencies at all levels to issue leadership and direction policies, develop specific programs, contents, measures, regimes and policies to comprehensively, synchronously and effectively implement VSTBCPN work and gender equality in the Army.

In addition, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh requested agencies and units throughout the army to proactively create resources for planning, training, fostering, and appointing female cadres; continue to pay attention to leadership, direction, and create favorable conditions for women to study, practice, contribute, progress, and mature, both to fulfill the political tasks of the unit and to fulfill the role of women in the family.

At the program, delegates listened to the sharing of generations of female officers in the Army with many outstanding contributions, such as: Colonel, writer Vu Thi Hong - the first Head of the Army Women's Committee (1993 - 2007), who laid the foundation for women's work and the women's movement, constantly making efforts to advise on the progress of women and gender equality in the Army from the very beginning. Major General Bui Thi Lan Phuong, Head of the Army Women's Committee (2013 - 2018), one of the heads of the committee with many innovations, creativity, and effective advice on VSTBCPN work and gender equality in the Army. Colonel Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, current Head of the Military Women's Committee, shared about her journey of dedication and direction of performing tasks, contributing to realizing expectations to be worthy of the trust of superiors and previous generations, constantly promoting traditions, continuing achievements, worthy of the title "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new era. Along with that, the delegates also listened to the sharing from representatives of the team of cadres specializing in women's work in agencies and units throughout the army. Thereby, it shows that the contributions of generations of cadres specializing in women's work have contributed to creating a strong change in the awareness and responsibility of Party committees, commanders, cadres, employees, soldiers, and women's union members; continuing to narrow the gender gap in all areas of social life and work.
