Meeting the General Secretary, international delegates talk about the message of Uncle Ho's poem 'Big Stone'

In Ho Chi Minh City, General Secretary To Lam this afternoon received heads of political party delegations from various countries visiting Vietnam to attend the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day.

Leaders and representatives of political parties of various countries warmly congratulated Vietnam and thanked it for the invitation and warm welcome.

Representing political parties of various countries, the Heads of the delegations from China, Mongolia, Japan, Dominican Republic and France highlighted the great victory of the Vietnamese people under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the great President Ho Chi Minh.

This is not only a victory of the heroic Vietnamese people but also a common victory of progressive, peace- loving humanity in the world and also a contribution to peace and development in the region.

Highlighting the strength of international solidarity and friendship, attachment to the Party, State and people of Vietnam, a delegate was moved to recall the symbolic message in the poem "The Big Stone" written by President Ho Chi Minh in 1942: "Knowing how to unite, knowing how to unite, no matter how difficult, can be accomplished".

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always cherish and remember the solidarity, attachment and valuable support and assistance that political parties, states, governments and international friends have given to Vietnam.

Highlighting the historical significance of the victory on April 30, 1975, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that this was a brilliant milestone in the history of the Vietnamese nation, the greatest achievement of the cause of national liberation and reunification of the Vietnamese people under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and beloved President Ho Chi Minh.

It is a victory and a living symbol of the aspiration for peace and the will "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom", of the strength of great national unity, as well as of the pure and noble spirit of international solidarity and of the conscience of people and progressive people around the world.

The General Secretary said that the historic victory of April 30, 1975 of the Vietnamese people had great contributions from progressive people and peace-loving friends around the world, including political parties of countries attending the celebration.

General Secretary To Lam emphasized that 2025 is also the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country. After 50 years, from a country devastated by war, Vietnam has become a symbol of peace, stability, and deep and comprehensive integration into world politics, the global economy and human civilization.

Vietnam is standing at a new historical starting point - a new era, an era of national development and growth.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam consistently supports political parties and social progressive movements around the world in the struggle for the common goals of the times; wishes to expand and deepen relations between political parties, enhance understanding, friendship and cooperation between the Vietnamese people and people of countries around the world.

Vietnam hopes to continue receiving support and close cooperation from political parties, friends and peace-loving people around the world for the cause of national construction and development, and to continue consolidating and deepening the traditional relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and political parties in an increasingly substantive and effective direction.

Within the framework of the celebration, leaders and representatives of political parties will also have many meaningful activities such as offering flowers at the Ho Chi Minh Monument and visiting cultural and historical establishments of Ho Chi Minh City.

Also this afternoon, President Luong Cuong received Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdes Mesa, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received Belarusian Vice President Ipatau Vadzim, and Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu received Politburo member of the Angolan People's Liberation Movement Party Jorge Inocenio Dombolo who came to attend the ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day.
