Russian Electronic People's Army Newspaper officially launched

(Chinhphu.vn) - The launch of the Russian-language People's Army Newspaper (QĐND) contributes to affirming and further enhancing the tradition of the very good friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, and is also a milestone in the history of the QĐND Newspaper.

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), on August 21, in Hanoi , the People's Army Newspaper launched its Russian-language online edition.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Vietnam Gennady Stepanovich Bezdetko, Counselor of the Embassy of Belarus to Vietnam Shloma Oleg Stanislavovich, and Counselor of the Embassy of Azerbaijan to Vietnam Samir Malikli attended the ceremony.

The People's Army Newspaper (QĐND) is the organ of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense , the voice of the Vietnamese armed forces and people, and a leading, multi-media communication agency that guides public opinion according to Decision No. 362/QĐ-TTg dated April 3, 2019, of the Prime Minister and Decision No. 5945/QĐ-BQP dated November 18, 2023, of the Minister of National Defense.

Along with disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and regulations, and military and defense activities, reflecting the thoughts and aspirations of the people, the People's Army Newspaper (QĐND) is also an important channel for foreign information. The People's Army Newspaper has published online versions in English, Chinese, Lao, and Khmer, making a significant contribution to promoting foreign propaganda and strengthening friendship with international friends. The launch of the Russian-language online version of the People's Army Newspaper is part of the development roadmap of this soldier's newspaper and has been approved by higher authorities.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Party Committee, Editorial Board, and staff of the People's Army Newspaper, Major General Doan Xuan Bo, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, expressed gratitude for the attention, guidance, and assistance of the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, the leaders of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, and other relevant agencies in the process of preparing for the launch of the Russian-language online version of the People's Army Newspaper.

The Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper stated that with the new Russian-language edition of the People's Army Newspaper Online, the newspaper aims to strengthen the foreign information work of the Vietnamese Party and State in general, with a focus on Russian-language defense diplomacy on the People's Army Newspaper Online; contributing to promoting and introducing Vietnam, its people, and the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

At the same time, it contributes to educating and raising awareness among the younger generation as well as officers and soldiers of the armed forces about the responsibility to preserve and expand the good traditional relationship between Vietnam and Russia, and actively combat false and distorted views that undermine the solidarity and cooperative development between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

Major General Doan Xuan Bo stated that, in the context of diverse information and the ever-faster flow of information today, the content conveyed to the public, especially to foreigners, needs to meet the principle of being "solid, standardized, and easily understandable."

With that approach, the People's Army Newspaper Online needs to closely adhere to the Party's guidelines and viewpoints, strictly and creatively implement the editorial board's propaganda orientation, and adopt new perspectives and approaches that are appropriate for the current development of journalism.
