GDP in the second quarter increased by 7.96%, new businesses were established in droves

(Dan Tri) - GDP in the second quarter and the first half of the year increased positively, the number of newly established enterprises increased rapidly. On average, 25,500 enterprises were newly established and returned to operation each month.

According to the General Statistics Office ( Ministry of Finance ), the gross domestic product (GDP) in the second quarter increased positively with an estimated increase of 7.96% over the same period last year, only lower than the growth rate of 8.56% in the second quarter of 2022 in the period 2020-2025.

The industrial, construction and service sectors still account for the highest proportion of industries contributing to the economy .

In the first 6 months, GDP increased by 7.52% over the same period last year, the highest level of the first 6 months in the period 2011-2025.

In the industrial and construction sector, the industry achieved high growth, the added value of the whole industry increased by 8.07% over the same period last year.

In the service sector, foreign trade, transportation and tourism activities increased to meet regional and global consumption needs, contributing positively to economic growth. The added value of the service sector in the first 6 months increased by 8.14% over the same period last year, the highest increase compared to the same period in the period 2011-2025.

With the context of good macroeconomic growth, in 6 months, the whole country had more than 152,700 newly registered and re-operated enterprises, an increase of 26.5% over the same period last year. In a month, on average, there are 25,500 newly registered and re-operated enterprises.

The number of enterprises withdrawing from the market was 127,200, an increase of 15.5% over the same period last year; on average, nearly 21,200 enterprises withdrew from the market per month.

The results of the survey on business trends of enterprises in the processing and manufacturing industry in the second quarter showed that 35.7% of companies assessed the production and business situation as better than the first quarter of the year. More than 37% of enterprises assessed that the trend would improve in the third quarter.
