TPO - A group of Gen Z artists in
Hanoi have created a dragon mascot project to welcome the Lunar New Year 2024 with the image of 5 dragons with various funny expressions.

The dragons are all handcrafted using pressed stone powder combined with a modern color palette of spray paint and hand-drawn strokes using traditional lacquer. |
 |
Inspired by the folk game To He, the collection will feature two winding dragon figurines with funny expressions, then mounted on a copper stick and can be displayed freely on a lacquer base, or placed anywhere. |
 |
Currently, the "Year of the Dragon" project has 2 versions including 2 colors and 5 colors. In which, the 5-color version uses the color system symbolizing the five elements of East Asia but is expressed with bright, fresh colors. |

Along with the project "Year of the Dragon", here young people are also working hard on the project LONG'STORY "The Story of the Dragon, a long story..." With the creation of a dragon egg from the legend of Mother Au Co giving birth to a sac of one hundred eggs; proud of the origin of "Dragon's Children and Fairy's Grandchildren" of the Vietnamese people. |
 |
The dragon eggs are made from rosewood and traditional lacquer. The eggshells feature stylized fire and cloud patterns from the cultural design on the stone steps of Dien Kinh Thien - a national treasure at Thang Long Imperial Citadel. The billowing clouds symbolize favorable weather and bountiful harvests. |

According to Gen Z artists, all 5 dragons with fresh colors and personalities, states, and expressions: calm, happy, sleeping, yawning, posing, or crying... are like the familiar expressions of each of us every day. |
