Robusta and Arabica coffee prices maintained their strong upward momentum in August due to concerns about unfavorable weather in key growing regions of Brazil. Reports of frost and lower-than-expected arabica crop yields raised concerns about global supply.
Furthermore, the market is also under pressure from international trade policies. The risk of the United States imposing import tariffs of up to 50% on coffee from Brazil has forced roasters to seek alternative sources, increasing demand and driving prices up. The weakening US dollar, rising logistics costs, and increased production costs have also contributed to this trend.
Domestic coffee prices today, August 26, 2025
On the morning of August 26th, coffee prices in the Central Highlands region continued to fall, decreasing by 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
In particular, coffee prices in Dak Nong recorded a decrease of 2,000 VND/kg, to 122,000 VND/kg.
In Dak Lak , the transaction price decreased by 2,000 VND/kg, currently trading at 122,000 VND/kg.
Next, the price of coffee in Gia Lai stood at 121,800 VND/kg, a decrease of 2,000 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, Lam Dong province saw a price decrease of 2,000 VND/kg, trading at 121,500 VND/kg.
According to the update on the morning of August 26, 2025, domestic coffee prices unexpectedly reversed course and fell after a week of sharp increases, while world coffee prices remained stable. The market outlook remains complex, requiring producers and exporters to monitor the situation closely.
Although the domestic market is showing signs of price decline, this may only be a short-term development. In the long term, with risks related to weather and global supply, along with end-of-season inventory in Vietnam, coffee prices are likely to remain high. Experts believe that to capitalize on the high prices, the Vietnamese coffee industry needs to focus on deep processing and brand building to increase product value and expand export markets, especially to potential regions such as the Middle East, South Asia, and Eastern Europe.
