Robusta and Arabica coffee prices continued to rally in August, driven by concerns about adverse weather in key growing regions in Brazil. Frost reports and lower-than-expected Arabica crop output have raised concerns about global supplies.
The market is also under pressure from international trade policies. The threat of the US imposing import tariffs of up to 50% on coffee from Brazil has forced roasters to seek alternative sources, increasing demand and pushing up prices. A weaker US dollar, rising logistics and production costs have also contributed to this trend.

According to the update on the morning of August 26, 2025, domestic coffee prices suddenly turned down after a week of strong increases, while world coffee prices remained stable. The market outlook still has many complex factors, requiring producers and exporters to closely monitor.
Although the domestic market is showing signs of price decline, this may only be a short-term development. In the long term, with the risks of weather and global supply, along with end-of-season inventories in Vietnam, coffee prices are expected to remain high. Experts say that to take advantage of the opportunity from high prices, the Vietnamese coffee industry needs to focus on deep processing and brand building to increase product value and expand export markets, especially to potential regions such as the Middle East, South Asia and Eastern Europe.
