On October 9th, information from the leadership of Lam Dong Provincial General Hospital indicated that the relatives of Ms. K'H. (29 years old, a woman who died after giving birth, from Lam Ha district, Lam Dong province) had withdrawn their complaint. The cause of death was dengue hemorrhagic shock, complicated by irreversible multiple organ failure.

After hearing the explanation from Lam Dong Provincial General Hospital regarding the cause of death, the family unanimously agreed to withdraw their complaint and pledged not to raise any further questions or complaints.

On September 15th, Ms. K'H. was admitted to Lam Dong Provincial General Hospital with a diagnosis of 38.5 weeks of pregnancy, fetal distress, fetal abnormalities causing multiple membrane effusion, ruptured membranes, pre-eclampsia, and hypothyroidism (which was under treatment). Therefore, the emergency cesarean section was indicated. The mother delivered a baby girl weighing 2.4 kg via cesarean section. The infant received intensive care and was transferred to a higher-level hospital for further treatment.

During the care and monitoring process until September 18th, the patient developed a fever of 40°C. The on-duty doctor performed a thorough examination and prescribed medication. The patient responded well to the fever-reducing medication, and by late that night, Ms. K'H.'s fever had subsided. By the following morning (September 19th), the patient was fever-free, only coughing, and expressed a desire to be discharged to care for her newborn baby who was receiving treatment in Ho Chi Minh City. The hospital discharged the patient and provided instructions on post-operative care.

By September 21st, the pregnant woman's health deteriorated and she was admitted to Lam Dong Provincial General Hospital for the second time. The hospital diagnosed Ms. K'H. with severe Dengue hemorrhagic fever, a fever of 40 degrees Celsius, severe bleeding (4,500ml of dark red, watery fluid in the abdominal cavity), and multiple organ failure (heart failure, liver failure, kidney failure).

During the emergency exploratory surgery, the incision was found to be dry and healing well; there was widespread bleeding with blood throughout the abdominal cavity that was difficult to control; laboratory tests revealed a coagulation disorder. The patient's clinical condition was consistent with complications of dengue fever. The hospital determined that no adverse events or complications arose during the first cesarean section.

Lam Dong Provincial General Hospital determined that the attitude of the medical staff in receiving, monitoring, and caring for the patient was appropriate. The medical staff followed the correct procedures, diligently provided emergency resuscitation, and clearly explained the patient's condition to Ms. K'H's family. Despite seeking treatment from a higher-level facility, the patient was admitted in a state of severe shock with complications of multiple organ failure due to dengue fever, and therefore did not survive.

Regarding the condition of Ms. K'H.'s baby girl, who was delivered by cesarean section, the infant was received by pediatricians in the operating room for intensive resuscitation and then transferred to a higher-level hospital. Currently, the newborn's health is stable and she has been discharged.
