Attending the training course were Mr. Vo Vinh Nam - Deputy Director of the Department of Mother and Child, a representative from UNICEF, and 42 delegates from the Departments of Health , Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and hospitals of the three provinces of Gia Lai, Lam Dong, and Quang Ngai. In addition to in-person training, the program was also connected online via Zoom software so that participating units could follow along.

Speaking at the training course, Mr. Vo Vinh Nam stated that the Maternal and Child Health and Reproductive Health Information System is a database developed by the Department of Maternal and Child Health in collaboration with UNICEF to serve digital transformation and statistical reporting in the field of maternal and child health and reproductive health. The system supports the management and aggregation of monthly data for primary healthcare facilities, ensuring the data's accuracy, completeness, cleanliness, and viability.
In implementing the Central Committee's resolutions and the Ministry of Health 's Digital Transformation Action Plan under Decision No. 2183/QD-BYT dated July 1, 2025, the Department of Maternal and Child Health has recently upgraded and modified its software to suit the two-tiered local government model, and completed the technical connection with the National Integrated Database (C12). According to system statistics, there are currently 1,878 successfully linked accounts from the HIS software to the eMCH system nationwide, with over 1.4 million records linked.
At the conference, the leaders of the Department of Maternal and Child Health acknowledged and commended the efforts of the Departments of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of Gia Lai , Lam Dong, and Quang Ngai provinces in implementing data connectivity. To date, Gia Lai province has achieved a data connectivity rate of 93.3%, ranking first nationwide in successfully connecting healthcare facilities; Lam Dong province has reached 73.2%, ranking third nationwide; and Quang Ngai province has reached 35.5%, ranking tenth out of 34 provinces.

During the training, participants were introduced to relevant legal documents and concepts related to statistical indicators in the field of maternal and child health and reproductive health; and given an overview of the history, features, and benefits of the eMCH system. Simultaneously, participants assessed the current status and progress of data interoperability between the HIS software and eMCH in the three provinces of Gia Lai, Quang Ngai, and Lam Dong; received detailed guidance on the implementation process of the eMCH software, how to interoperate data between the two systems, and practiced logging in, changing passwords, and entering data.
In addition, the training course also guided participants on the reporting process, submission for approval, and data exchange with the health statistics software; the use of the account system; and how to reconcile reported data between the eMCH software and the health statistics software. The program also dedicated time to addressing difficulties and obstacles arising during practical implementation in localities.
Through this training course, localities will continue to enhance their capacity to implement digital transformation in the healthcare sector, contributing to improved data management quality and effectively serving maternal and child health care in the new context.
