From the center of Pleiku city, after traveling about 15 km, we arrived at Ba Waterfall in Ngol village. Following the winding, gently sloping red dirt road leading down to the foot of the waterfall, the roaring sound of the water echoed like an enchanting invitation from the vast forest.

The sun had begun to peek through the thin veil of clouds, and the rain from the previous night had left the path somewhat slippery. However, the damp earth and the post-rain air brought a refreshing, clean feeling that soothed the traveler's fatigue.
The first impression upon arrival is the lush green landscape stretching across the area. Forests cover the hillsides, interspersed with towering pine trees that extend all the way to the mountainside. Therefore, no matter what time of year you visit Ba Waterfall, you can easily feel the fresh and airy atmosphere.
Right from the entrance, looking down, you can see the overflowing dam, flowing downstream towards the waterfall. Ba Waterfall isn't very high; its shape resembles a large stream, but the water cascades down powerfully and abundantly. Besides beautifying the natural landscape, the waterfall is also a valuable water source that fertilizes the fields, nourishes trees, and keeps the vegetation lush and green all year round.

Ba Waterfall has been entrusted to local residents for management and development into a tourist destination.
At the foot of the waterfall, rocks of all sizes lie piled haphazardly on top of each other. Some slabs of black stone are smooth and polished by the erosion of time and the relentless flow of water, while others are covered in soft green moss. Amidst the rocky terrain, a few small trees still cling tenaciously to their roots, reaching towards the vast sky.
Walking slowly across the small wooden bridge spanning the stream, amidst the murmuring water and the chirping of insects, I opened my chest to fully enjoy the essence of nature. The scent of grass, water vapor, and mountain breeze blended together, bringing a strange sense of lightness and peace to my heart.
After enjoying the beauty of the mountains, forests, and rivers, visitors can have a picnic in the forest or rest in simple thatched huts built along the waterfalls, enjoying rustic dishes prepared by the local people... All of this promises to bring exciting and memorable summer days.

Ba Waterfall is an ideal stop for tourists visiting the Gia Lai highlands.
Ms. Ho Thi Duyen, a civil servant at the Culture and Social Affairs Department of Dak Doa commune, said: “Ba Waterfall was originally a small hydroelectric power plant. After it ceased operation, the local authorities handed it over to the people to manage and develop into a tourist destination. Thanks to its beautiful scenery and convenient location, the number of visitors is increasing, especially during holidays, Tet (Lunar New Year), and weekends. Since the Lunar New Year, we have welcomed nearly 10,000 visitors. In the future, the local authorities plan to develop Ba Waterfall into a key eco-tourism area, linking cultural preservation with local economic development. At the same time, we will expand activities to allow visitors to experience the daily life of the people in Ngol village.”
Mr. Jaoh, the head of Ngol village, shared: “The people want to work with the government to develop this place into a community tourism destination linked to the preservation and promotion of local cultural identity. This will be a place to organize activities such as reenacting traditional festivals, performing gong music, sculpting competitions, weaving brocade… Through this, we will both preserve the cultural values of our ancestors and create additional livelihoods and income for the people.”
If you love exploring and want to immerse yourself in pristine nature, Ba Waterfall will certainly be an ideal stop amidst the vast forests of Gia Lai.
