Gia Lai: Inauguration of strategic route connecting North-South expressway with coastal road

This is one of the events in the series of groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies of works and projects to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) organized by the Provincial People's Committee on the same day.

The route is 19.2 km long, passing through Phu My, Phu My Tay and An Luong communes. The project is designed according to the standards of a grade III plain road, with a speed of 80 km/h; the roadbed is 12 m wide, the asphalt concrete surface is 11 m wide, including 2 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for non-motor vehicles. The total investment is over 818.5 billion VND, of which the central budget is 400 billion VND, the provincial budget is over 418.5 billion VND.

This is a strategic traffic route, connecting the East-West axis from the North-South Expressway to the coastal road, forming a synchronous and smooth traffic network. The project not only meets the needs of inter-regional travel and freight transport but also expands the development space, attracts investment in Phu My Industrial Park and coastal areas, contributing to promoting socio -economic development, associated with ensuring national defense and security.

Construction started in May 2022, and the project faced many difficulties in compensation, site clearance, geological conditions, weather and material sources. However, with the close direction of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, the coordination of departments, branches, localities and the determination of the investor and contractor, the project was completed on schedule and ensured quality.

The inauguration ceremony of the road was held in the atmosphere of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, affirming the importance of the project and the pride of the Party Committee, government and people of the province in contributing to the overall development of the country.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Lam Hai Giang Provincial People's Committee emphasized: The route is a strategic traffic project, playing a particularly important role in completing the inter-regional traffic network, forming an East-West connection axis from the North-South expressway to the coastal route.

The project opens up a new development space, effectively connecting with Phu My Industrial Park, which was also started on this occasion, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security for an area with great potential but still facing many difficulties. The inauguration ceremony not only marks the completion of a modern transport project, but also a vivid symbol of the achievements of 80 years of building and developing the country.

At the same time, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his hope that relevant levels, sectors and localities will exploit, manage and use the route effectively; at the same time, continue to join hands and build many other important infrastructure projects. Thereby, contributing to realizing the goal of making the province a fairly developed locality in the Central region, so that Gia Lai can firmly enter a new era, meeting the double-digit growth target according to the Central's orientation in the coming period.
