Accordingly, the competition brought together 46 members from two teams competing in many exciting events. The fierce competitions, the resounding fireworks, and the cheers of the spectators created an exhilarating atmosphere, contributing to the honoring and preservation of the local traditional folk culture.
Joining in to cheer on the competing teams, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lai (Doan Ket village, Chu Se commune) emotionally shared: “Hearing that the locality was organizing a firecracker competition, my whole family eagerly gathered to watch and cheer.”
I was born in Hai Duong, so the firecracker game is associated with many childhood memories. Since moving to Gia Lai , seeing the resounding firecrackers and the lively atmosphere like in my hometown today makes me very emotional and excited.
I hope this traditional folk game will continue to be preserved and maintained so that the younger generation can better understand the beauty of our ancestors' traditional culture."

Vu Van Vu, a member of the Chu Se firecracker team, said: "To produce firecrackers with a loud bang, our team spent about a week practicing thoroughly, from physical training to perfecting the techniques of molding and setting off the firecrackers."
Each successful fireworks display requires not only skill and coordination among team members but also perseverance and experience accumulated through numerous practice sessions.
In addition, participating in the competition will help people improve their health, strengthen team spirit, and contribute to preserving and passing on traditional folk games passed down from our ancestors.”

Sharing more about the competition, Mr. Vu Xuan Tuong, captain of the Chu Se firecracker team and one of the co-organizers of the program, said that most of the team members are natives of the Northern Delta region who came to Gia Lai to start their careers. Carrying with them memories and love for traditional folk games, they always want to preserve the long-standing cultural beauty of their ancestors, while also spreading their passion for firecrackers in the Central Highlands.
According to Mr. Tuong, the good news is that not only people of Northern origin but also many people born and raised in Gia Lai are gradually developing a love for, learning how to play, and actively participating in firecracker competitions.
"This is a positive sign that gives us more motivation to maintain the competition, thereby preserving a folk game rich in cultural identity. We will continue to strive to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of our nation and pass them on to future generations," Mr. Tuong shared.

According to many folklore sources, the firecracker game originated in the provinces of the Northern Delta, and has been associated with the working life and community activities of the people since ancient times.
Originally, this game was played after the harvest season or during spring festivals to pray for a bountiful harvest, a prosperous life, and to create a joyful atmosphere for the people.
Over time, firecrackers have gradually become a unique folk cultural activity, passed down through many generations.
Besides its entertainment value, the game also demonstrates the spirit of solidarity, collective strength, and ingenuity of the participants, contributing to enriching the cultural life of the community.

Amidst the modern pace of life with its many new forms of entertainment, the fact that the Firecracker Festival is still maintained and attracts a large number of people to participate and cheer demonstrates the enduring vitality of a long-standing folk game.
The resounding firecrackers liven up the festive atmosphere, evoking memories of homeland, community bonds, and love for traditional cultural values.
The competition also became an opportunity for those who had left their hometowns to rediscover the familiar culture of the Northern Delta region in the Central Highlands, while simultaneously creating a chance for the younger generation to better understand, appreciate, and be proud of the folk games passed down from their ancestors. Through this, it contributes to preserving and spreading the national cultural identity in present and future life.
