The Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day is organized annually by Gia Lai province to affirm the position, role, and importance of books in social life. Through this, it honors reading culture and raises awareness among all levels of government, sectors, and the entire population about building and developing a reading culture.

This year's Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day is being held in the context of Gia Lai province implementing many activities in response to the National Tourism Year - Gia Lai 2026 with the theme "The Great Forest Touches the Blue Sea".
Within the framework of the program, many attractive activities were organized such as: a coffee and book festival, a book exhibition space, a free reading experience area, author meet-and-greets, a creative area for children… These activities have created additional unique tourism products, attracting tourists to Gia Lai.

During the program, the organizers also presented many book gifts to local libraries, especially in remote areas and areas inhabited by ethnic minorities. This is a meaningful activity that contributes to supplementing knowledge resources and creating opportunities for people in all regions to access books, narrowing the knowledge gap.
In addition, the 2026 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest will continue to be implemented in Gia Lai province, targeting students from primary to high school throughout the province with many diverse forms of expression such as: writing book reviews, creating stories, making videos introducing books, etc.
The competition contributes to fostering a passion for reading, developing critical thinking, communication skills, and self-learning awareness. It is also an opportunity to discover and honor outstanding individuals who have the ability to spread a reading culture in the community.
