Prices for raw and finished rice in An Giang remained stable. Specifically, OM 380 raw rice fluctuated between 8,000 and 8,100 VND/kg; IR 504 rice ranged from 8,200 to 8,250 VND/kg; and CL 555 rice was purchased at 8,600 to 8,800 VND/kg. OM 18 rice – generally considered higher quality – was priced from 10,200 to 10,400 VND/kg. OM 5451 rice also maintained a price of 9,600 to 9,750 VND/kg.
In the finished rice category, OM 380 sells for 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg, while IR 504 is priced higher, ranging from 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.
At retail markets, consumer rice prices remained stable. Nang Nhen rice continued to maintain the highest price on the domestic market at 28,000 VND/kg. Common rice ranged from 13,000 to 15,000 VND/kg. Fragrant rice varieties such as Jasmine, Huong Lai, Soc Thai rice, or Japanese rice were priced from 16,000 to 22,000 VND/kg. Taiwanese fragrant rice and Nang Hoa rice fluctuated around 20,000 to 21,000 VND/kg.
Prices for fresh paddy purchased directly from the fields generally remain stable, but some varieties have seen a slight decrease. Fresh OM 380 paddy has fallen by 100 VND/kg compared to a few days ago, now priced at 5,600 - 5,800 VND/kg. IR 50404 paddy maintains a price of 5,400 - 5,700 VND/kg, while OM 5451 fluctuates between 6,200 - 6,400 VND/kg.
High-quality rice varieties such as OM 18, Dai Thom 8, and Nang Hoa 9 command higher prices, ranging from 6,650 to 7,000 VND/kg.
On the export market, according to updates from the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the price of 5% broken rice increased slightly to 398 USD/ton (up 1 USD), while 25% broken rice remained at 368 USD/ton and 100% broken rice remained unchanged at 323 USD/ton.
Regarding export figures, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, from the beginning of the year to April 15, 2025, the whole country exported approximately 2.85 million tons of rice, earning 1.47 billion USD. The volume of rice exported increased by 6.4% compared to the same period last year, but the total export value decreased by 14.9%.
