On February 6.2, news from Can Tho City People's Committee said that Mr. Duong Tan Hien, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, signed a decision on regulating clean water prices in 2024 in the area.
Accordingly, the price of clean water consumption in urban and rural areas provided by water supply companies is divided into 4 groups. Price includes value added tax, does not include environmental protection fee for domestic wastewater.
According to new regulations, the price of clean water in Can Tho increases for all customers
Group 1: in urban areas, the price for poor households with books is 5.640 VND/mXNUMX3, residential households 9.020 VND/mXNUMX3. In rural areas, the price applied to these two customer groups is 2 VND/m4.820 respectively.3 and 8.240 VND/m3.
With this regulation, Can Tho has abandoned the method of calculating clean water prices according to steps, based on the amount of water used in a month. This means that no matter how much or how little, residents (households) only pay a single price, instead of calculating in 4 steps with prices ranging from 5.500 - 8.700 VND/mXNUMX.3 as before.

Group 2: applies to customers who are administrative agencies, public service units, schools, hospitals, medical examination and treatment facilities (including private ones) and serving public purposes. Urban areas apply the price of 11.170 VND/m3; rural areas 9.310 VND/mXNUMX3 (The previous price for both areas was 2 VND).
Group 3: Regulations for organizations and individuals producing materials. Urban areas apply the price of 12.400 VND/m3; rural areas 9.930 VND/mXNUMX3 (The previous price was 8.900 VND/m3).
Group 4: applies to organizations and individuals doing business and services. Urban area: 15.580 VND/mXNUMX3; rural areas 11.520 VND/mXNUMX3 (previous price 11.100 VND/m3).
Meanwhile, the price of domestic water in urban and rural areas provided by the Center for Rural Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation is divided into 2 groups. Group 1: applies the price of 4.000 VND/m3 For residential households, they are poor households with books, land donation households, policy families (Vietnamese Heroic Mother families, families of war invalids, families of martyrs). Group 2 includes residential households and other target groups, with a price of 7.450 VND/mXNUMX3.
The decision of the People's Committee of Can Tho City also clearly states that the maximum adjustment rate for increasing clean water prices is 2,8%/year. Every year, water supply units must proactively review the implementation of clean water plans and clean water prices for the following year in accordance with the provisions of Article 4, Circular No. 44, 2021 of the Minister of Finance.
