At DOJI Group, the price of SJC gold bars also increased sharply, currently trading at 118.5 million VND/tael (buy) and 121 million VND/tael (sell), an increase of 1.7 million VND/tael in both directions.
SJC gold price at Mi Hong is listed at 118.5 million VND/tael (buy) and 120 million VND/tael (sell), up 1.7 million VND/tael and 1.5 million VND/tael respectively compared to the previous session.
At the PNJ system, the price of SJC 99.99% ring gold recorded a slight increase, currently trading at 112 million VND/tael (buy) and 115 million VND/tael (sell), an increase of 1 million VND/tael in both directions.
VietinBank Gold listed the selling price at 121 million VND/tael, an increase of 1.7 million VND/tael compared to yesterday.
SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau is currently trading at 118.5 million VND/tael (buy) and 121 million VND/tael (sell), an increase of 1.7 million VND/tael in both directions.
At Phu Quy, SJC gold price is listed at 118 million VND/tael (buy) and 121 million VND/tael (sell), an increase of 1.7 million VND/tael in both trading directions.

At the time of trading at 4:00 p.m. on May 21, 2025 (Vietnam time), the world gold price recorded by Kitco was at 3,309.11 USD/ounce. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (26,140 VND/USD), the world gold price is equivalent to about 104.7 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Compared with the domestic SJC gold bar price on the same day (118.5-121.0 million VND/tael), the SJC gold price is currently about 16.3 million higher than the international gold price.
Today, the world gold price recorded a strong upward trend, reaching the highest level in more than a week. The main reason came from the weakening of the USD and financial instability in the US when Congress is debating a new tax bill. At 06:43 GMT, the spot gold price increased by 0.9%, reaching 3,319.51 USD/ounce, and earlier in the trading session, this precious metal hit its highest level since May 12.
According to Tim Waterer, market analyst at KCM Trade, gold prices are still trending up in the medium to long term. However, any positive news related to international trade agreements could prevent gold from reaching the $3,500/ounce threshold.
In a recent speech, St. Louis Federal Reserve President Alberto Musalem said that easing trade tensions would help the U.S. labor market remain stable while keeping inflation at the Fed’s 2% target. These factors could weigh on gold’s outlook, as the market often views gold as a safe haven asset during times of economic uncertainty.
Other precious metals such as palladium and platinum also saw notable moves. Palladium fell 0.8% to $1,005.11 an ounce, but still hit its highest level since February 4 in early trading. Demand for palladium could increase as automakers such as Honda shift to hybrid vehicles instead of fully electric vehicles, according to independent trader Tai Wong.
Metals such as platinum and palladium play an important role in the automotive industry, especially in the manufacture of catalytic converters to reduce harmful emissions.
