On the morning of June 16, the price of SJC gold bars at major systems such as SJC, PNJ, DOJI , and Bao Tin Minh Chau was simultaneously adjusted to increase by 200,000 VND/tael compared to the weekend.
Accordingly, the buying price is listed at 118.5 million VND/tael, while the selling price is 120.5 million VND/tael.
Following the same trend, the price of 99.99 gold rings and jewelry gold also increased to 113.9 million VND/tael (buy) and 116.4 million VND/tael (sell).
This is the fourth increase after a week of strong fluctuations in domestic gold prices.
Gold prices today all went up
In the international market, gold prices opened the week up by $12/ounce to $3,444/ounce. The increase was supported by safe-haven demand amid ongoing geopolitical tensions, a weakening US dollar and concerns about inflation in the US.
Experts say that in addition to tensions between Israel and Iran, the market is also affected by the risk of trade conflicts due to the new US tariff policy, leading to concerns about slowing global economic growth.
The USD Index (DXY) is currently at its lowest level in 2 months, which is one of the main factors helping gold prices continue to rise.
According to the current exchange rate, the world gold price is converted to about 109 million VND/tael - still much lower than the domestic gold price.
