According to Kitco, the spot price of gold in the world market at 4:30 AM Vietnam time today was $4,540 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 0.84% ​​compared to yesterday. Converted using the USD exchange rate on the free market (26,295 VND/USD), the world gold price is approximately 144 million VND/ounce (excluding taxes and fees). Therefore, the price of SJC gold bars is currently about 15 million VND/ounce higher than the international gold price.

Although global gold prices have recovered from a two-month low around $4,365 per ounce, they are still on track to record a third consecutive month of decline. Experts believe that the $4,360 per ounce area could act as a crucial support level, where bargain-hunting demand is likely to emerge.

In other major gold trading hubs in Asia such as Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore, gold prices mostly traded at or slightly below par. This trend suggests that cautious sentiment continues to dominate trading activity in the region.

In May, world gold prices fluctuated dramatically, at times rising to $4,755 per ounce, then continuously falling, at one point reaching only $4,366 per ounce before ending the month at $4,540.3 per ounce. Thus, compared to the end of April, world gold prices have almost returned to their starting point.

Forecasting the trend of world gold prices, experts predict that in the short term, gold prices may continue to fluctuate sharply around the 4,400-4,500 USD/ounce range.

The global gold market is still assessing the impact of inflation, the US Federal Reserve's interest rate policy, and geopolitical developments in the Middle East. If oil prices continue to fall and US economic data weakens, expectations that the Fed will ease its hawkish stance could support a gold recovery.

Pressure on gold remains significant as the US dollar stays high and the market hasn't ruled out the possibility of the Fed continuing to raise interest rates in the final months of the year. According to many experts, the $4,370-$4,400/ounce range is currently considered a crucial support level for gold prices, while the $4,600/ounce mark will be a strong resistance level to overcome to confirm a new uptrend.

Domestic gold prices today

Domestic SJC gold bar prices continued their upward trend in the latest trading session as numerous businesses simultaneously adjusted their listed prices upwards. The selling price on the market has now returned to the 159 million VND/ounce mark.

At Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC), the price of gold bars is listed at 156 - 159 million VND/ounce (buying price - selling price), an increase of 500,000 VND/ounce in both directions compared to yesterday. The buy-sell spread continues to remain at 3 million VND/ounce.

PNJ also recorded a similar development, adjusting the price of gold bars to 156-159 million VND/ounce. Compared to the previous session, the company uniformly increased the price by 500,000 VND/ounce for both buying and selling, bringing the buy-sell spread to 3 million VND/ounce.

DOJI Group continues to follow the general market trend by listing SJC gold bars at 156 - 159 million VND/ounce. Both the buying and selling prices increased by 500,000 VND/ounce compared to the previous session.

At Bao Tin Minh Huong, the price of gold bars is currently trading around 156 - 159 million VND/ounce (buying price - selling price). Compared to yesterday, the company adjusted the price up by 500,000 VND/ounce in both directions.

Bao Tin Manh Hai is currently listing gold bars at 156 - 159 million VND/ounce. The buying price has increased sharply by 1 million VND/ounce, while the selling price has increased by 500,000 VND/ounce compared to the previous session.

Meanwhile, Phu Quy SJC adjusted the price of gold bars to 155.5 - 159 million VND/ounce. Compared to yesterday, both the buying and selling prices increased by 500,000 VND/ounce, with the buy-sell spread remaining at 3.5 million VND/ounce.

Mi Hong, in particular, continues to maintain a distinct price level compared to the larger businesses. Currently, SJC gold bars here are trading at 156.5 - 158 million VND/ounce (buying price - selling price), an increase of 300,000 VND/ounce in the buying price, while the selling price remains unchanged compared to the previous session.
