After a week of sharp increases, domestic gold ring prices reversed sharply this morning, influenced by global gold prices. The price of gold rings from many brands has fallen below 76 million VND per tael.
Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) sharply reduced the price of gold rings today. This morning, SJC listed the price of gold rings weighing 1-5 taels in Ho Chi Minh City at 73.75-75.35 million VND/tael (buy - sell), a decrease of 450,000 VND per tael in both buying and selling prices compared to the closing price yesterday.
Similarly, the price of gold rings at Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ) also saw a rapid downward adjustment. This morning, PNJ gold rings were traded at 73.95-75.65 million VND/ounce (buy - sell). Compared to yesterday's closing price, the price of gold rings at PNJ has decreased by 350,000 VND/ounce in both buying and selling directions.
Bao Tin Minh Chau Company also lowered the price of plain round gold rings from Thang Long to 74.68-75.98 million VND/ounce (buying price - selling price), a decrease of 300,000 VND/ounce in both buying and selling prices compared to yesterday's closing price.
The price of 9999 pure gold rings at Doji Gold and Gemstone Group this morning also decreased by 400,000 VND/ounce in the buying price and 250,000 VND/ounce in the selling price compared to yesterday's closing price, trading at around 74.7-76.05 million VND/ounce.
The difference between the buying and selling prices of gold rings from various brands currently ranges from 1.3 to 1.7 million VND per tael (approximately 37.5 grams).
Although prices fell sharply in the final trading session of the week, overall, domestic gold ring prices saw a fairly strong increase over the past week.
Compared to last week's closing prices, the prices of gold rings from various brands have increased. Specifically, this week, the price of gold rings at SJC increased by 400,000 VND/ounce for both buying and selling. The price of gold rings at PNJ increased by 550,000 VND/ounce for both buying and selling. The price of plain round gold rings at Thang Long Dragon Gold increased by 500,000 VND/ounce for both buying and selling. Meanwhile, Doji raised the price of 9999 plain round gold rings by 450,000 VND/ounce for buying and 550,000 VND/ounce for selling this past week.
Meanwhile, the price of SJC gold bars has remained unchanged for several days. Major gold businesses such as SJC, Doji, and PNJ all listed SJC gold bars at 74.98-76.98 million VND/ounce (buy - sell) on the morning of June 22nd. This marks the 12th consecutive session that businesses have maintained the same selling price for SJC gold bars.
On the global market , gold prices plummeted at the end of the week, falling by as much as $40 per ounce, due to a stronger US dollar and rising US government bond yields. At the close of the week, the spot price of gold on the world market was at $2,320.
The world gold price, converted at the current exchange rate at Vietcombank, is 71.23 million VND/ounce (excluding taxes and fees).
Compared to world gold prices, SJC gold bars are currently 5.75 million VND/ounce more expensive than the world price. SJC gold rings are also 4.12 million VND/ounce more expensive.
