Sky-high ticket prices for MU - Tottenham match

Europa League final tickets are being sold by a company owned by Todd Boehly for the astronomical price of nearly £23,000.

Todd Boehly sparked outrage when his company charged exorbitant prices for tickets.

The final of Europe's second-tier tournament attracts special attention as two English representatives - Manchester United and Tottenham - compete, with a place in next season's Champions League the prestigious prize.

The match will take place on May 22 at San Mames Stadium (Bilbao), with a capacity of over 53,000 seats, with each team allotted about 15,000 tickets for fans. That means about 23,000 tickets will be sold on the open market. At that time, many fans will have to find ways to own tickets to watch their favorite team play.

However, Vivid Seats, in which Boehly holds a 41% stake, is selling prime seats for up to £22,738. Official retail tickets for spectators range from £55 to £204, but on the black market they are being sold for thousands of pounds. Some other Vivid Seats seats are being sold for more than £17,000, and others are being sold for around £4,000.

The incident has angered the fan community. One fan commented: "This is everything that is wrong with top-flight football". Another said: "Why is this allowed to exist? It's a shame". Another simply commented: "Disgusting".

In March, the Chelsea Supporters' Club (CST) wrote to the Premier League expressing its concerns: "Many CST members are angry about the relationship and have sent us feedback. As Chelsea's owner, Mr Boehly's direct involvement with Vivid Seats is inappropriate and seriously undermines the efforts of Chelsea, the Premier League and the Metropolitan Police to combat the black market for tickets."

CST has repeatedly contacted Mr. Boehly directly, asking him to explain publicly or privately to fans, but so far the businessman and his representatives have not responded. According to the Daily Mail , thousands of tickets are still for sale on the Vivid Seats website.
