Meaning and objectives of the Award

The "Technology with Heart" photo and video award, first organized jointly by VNA and Viettel in 2024, has left a profound impression on the public and professionals alike. The entries in the first season not only celebrated the contributions of technology but also told emotionally charged stories, showcasing the creativity and aspirations of the Vietnamese people in their journey of integration and development.

The works vividly reflected the spread of technology in all areas of life - from production, healthcare, education to culture and entertainment. Many works not only depicted the remarkable progress of Vietnamese technology but also contained profound humanistic values, affirming the position of technology as a driving force for national development and human happiness.

Following that success, the second season was launched in early 2025, practically implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

With the theme "Vietnamese Innovation - The Road to Prosperity," the Award aims to honor technological achievements bearing the Vietnamese brand, igniting national pride and a spirit of continuous innovation. Through this, the Award contributes to spreading the message of innovation and encouraging creative efforts for the benefit of people and the community.

Beyond its professional significance, the Award also serves as an opportunity to promote the image and brand of VNA – the leading national multi-media news agency – on the occasion of its 80th anniversary (September 15, 1945 - September 15, 2025); and to honor Viettel Group – a pioneering enterprise in industry, technology, and digital transformation in Vietnam. The collaboration between the two entities is proof of the effective cooperation between journalism and businesses in accompanying the country's development through knowledge and technology.

The "Technology with Heart" award is therefore not only an artistic platform but also a social and communication activity with profound humanitarian significance, contributing to affirming the role of technology in the modernization and creation of a digital society in Vietnam.

Content, themes, and new features of season 2

The 2nd "Technology with Heart" photo and video award, themed "Vietnamese Innovation - The Road to Prosperity," focuses on honoring stories and moments that demonstrate the role of technology in the development of the country and people's lives.

According to the rules, all Vietnamese citizens, both in Vietnam and abroad, can participate in the Award, in two categories: photos and videos. Compared to the first season, this year's competition has several notable changes. The maximum video length has been extended to 90 seconds (compared to 60 seconds previously), allowing authors to convey their stories more fully, vividly, and in depth.

The content of the works is encouraged to be presented from multiple perspectives: Technology and production development: Innovations that help increase productivity, quality, reduce costs, and enhance national competitiveness. Technology and life: Applying technology to improve living standards, protect the environment, promote sustainable development, and alleviate poverty.

Technology and connectivity: Reflects cultural exchange and integration, connecting regions and countries. Technology and digital transformation: Acknowledges achievements in building a digital government, digital economy, and digital society. Technology and cybersecurity: Showcases the role of technology as a "steel shield" protecting information security in the context of digital transformation.

The winning entries will be widely publicized and exhibited, allowing the public to better understand and appreciate the value that technology brings to life.

Through these entries, the Award contributes to spreading the spirit of innovation, the aspiration for excellence, and pride in Vietnam's technological achievements. Beyond honoring techniques and technologies, each entry also emphasizes the human element – those who create, apply, and disseminate the value of technology in daily life. Following the launch of the competition, the Organizing Committee received numerous diverse entries reflecting various fields – from manufacturing technology, education, healthcare, and agriculture, to digital transformation, cybersecurity, and community connectivity. The entries this year demonstrate the increasingly insightful perspective of Vietnamese people on technology: not only as a tool to serve daily life, but also as a bridge connecting people, bringing them closer together, and fostering more sustainable societal development.

Many works depict images of engineers and workers creating innovative products on the production line; doctors using artificial intelligence to save lives; farmers applying QR codes to trace agricultural products; or young people learning programming to create products that serve the community. All of them reflect the spirit of "technology for humanity" and "creativity from the heart."

Speaking about the significance of the Award, General Director of VNA Vu Viet Trang affirmed: The "Technology with Heart" Award has been contributing to inspiring creativity and pride in technological achievements bearing the Vietnamese brand. This is concrete evidence of the realization of the Party and State's policy on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, creating a solid foundation for the country's prosperous development in the new era.

The Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association and Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Le Quoc Minh, highly appreciated the significance and widespread impact of the award. He stated that, alongside traditional communication methods, awards like "Technology from the Heart" are creative communication methods that strongly spread the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW, while inspiring society, especially those directly involved in production, business, and science and technology. Through vivid images and inspiring videos, the public can feel the strong transformation of the country, encouraging a spirit of innovation, daring to think and act, and continuous creativity.

Mr. Le Quoc Minh emphasized: Today's journalists not only need to write good articles and take beautiful photos, but also need to know how to use technology - from simple devices like smartphones and cameras, to more complex technologies like artificial intelligence to filter data and discover information.

Thus, the Award not only creates a platform for authors who love art and technology, but also opens up a new approach in communication, encouraging the application of technology to tell stories, to spread beauty and human values in modern life. The Organizing Committee hopes that every journalist, photographer, filmmaker, as well as every citizen who loves technology, will continue to support the Award in the coming years, contributing to painting a vivid picture of the digital transformation in Vietnam.

The announcement and awarding ceremony for the 2nd "Technology with Heart" Award is scheduled to take place on October 23rd. Outstanding works will be displayed and introduced to the public at Tao Dan Flower Garden, Cua Nam Ward (Hanoi).
