The 2nd 'Technology from the Heart' Award: Vietnamese Creativity

With the theme “Vietnamese Creativity - The Road to Prosperity”, this year’s Award continues to affirm the role of technology in life, spreading humanistic values and inspiring innovation, towards building a prosperous Vietnam in the digital age.

Meaning and Objectives of the Award

The first “Technology with Heart” photo and video award, jointly organized by VNA and Viettel in 2024, has left a deep impression on the public and experts. The entries in the first season not only honored the contributions of technology but also told emotional stories, expressing the creative spirit and aspirations of the Vietnamese people in the journey of integration and development.

The works vividly reflect the spread of technology in all areas of life - from production, health, education to culture and entertainment. Many works not only depict the remarkable progress of Vietnamese technology but also contain profound human values, affirming the position of technology as a driving force for national development and human happiness.

Following that success, the second season was launched in early 2025, practically implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

With the theme “Vietnamese Creativity - The Road to Prosperity”, the Award aims to honor technological achievements with Vietnamese brands, arousing national pride and the spirit of continuous creativity. Thereby, the Award contributes to spreading the message of innovation, encouraging creative efforts for people and for the community.

In addition to its professional significance, the Award is also an opportunity to promote the image and brand of VNA - the national multimedia news agency on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of its traditional day (September 15, 1945 - September 15, 2025); and at the same time, honor Viettel Group - a pioneer in industry, technology and digital transformation in Vietnam. The cooperation between the two units is a testament to the effective cooperation between the press and businesses in accompanying the country's development with knowledge and technology.

The “Technology with heart” award is therefore not only an artistic playground but also a social and communication activity with profound humanistic meaning, contributing to affirming the role of technology in the modernization and creation of a digital society in Vietnam.

Content, theme and new points of season 2

The 2nd “Technology with Heart” photo and video award, with the theme “Vietnamese Creativity – The Road to Prosperity”, focuses on honoring stories and moments that demonstrate the role of technology in the development of the country and human life.

According to the rules, all Vietnamese citizens at home and abroad can participate in the Award, with two categories: photo and video. Compared to the first season, this year there are many notable innovations. The maximum video duration is extended to 90 seconds (compared to 60 seconds previously), helping authors convey the story more fully, vividly and in depth.

The content of the work is encouraged to be expressed through many angles: Technology and production development: Innovations help increase productivity, quality, reduce costs and enhance national competitiveness. Technology and life: Applying technology to improve life, protect the environment, develop sustainably, and reduce poverty.

Technology and connectivity: Reflects cultural exchange and integration, connecting regions and countries. Technology and digital transformation: Recognizes achievements in building digital government, digital economy, digital society. Technology and cybersecurity: Demonstrates the role of technology as a "steel shield" to protect information security in the context of digital transformation.

The winning works will be communicated and displayed on a large scale, creating conditions for the public to access and feel more clearly the values that technology brings to life.

Through these contents, the Award contributes to spreading the spirit of innovation, the desire to rise up and pride in Vietnam's technological achievements. Not only honoring techniques or technology, each work also promotes the human element - those who create, apply and spread the value of technology in life. This is the point that creates the humanistic depth and special influence of this year's Award.

After the launch, the Organizing Committee received many rich works, reflecting a variety of fields - from production technology, education, healthcare, agriculture, to digital transformation, cyber security and community connection. The works participating in this year's competition show the increasingly profound view of Vietnamese people on technology: not only a tool to serve life but also a humane bridge, helping people get closer together, and society to develop more sustainably.

Many works capture images of creative engineers and workers on production lines; doctors using artificial intelligence to save lives; farmers using QR codes to trace the origin of agricultural products; or young people learning programming to create products to serve the community. All exude the spirit of “technology for people” and “creativity from the heart”.

Spreading creative inspiration from technology

In the context of the country promoting comprehensive digital transformation, the 2nd “Technology with Heart” Award is not only an art playground but also an open forum for the community to look back on the creative journey of Vietnamese people in the digital age. Each photo and video submitted to the contest contains a story about Vietnamese people proactively embracing technology and constantly innovating for the development of the country.

Many works not only reflect the development of science and technology but also convey love for the homeland, national pride and profound humanitarian spirit. This is the sustainable value that the Award aims for: connecting human hearts with Vietnamese intelligence, affirming the power of creativity and humanity in the digital age.

Speaking about the significance of the Award, VNA General Director Vu Viet Trang affirmed: The “Technology with heart” Award has been contributing to inspiring creativity and pride in technological achievements bearing the Vietnamese brand. This is a concrete demonstration of the realization of the Party and State’s policy on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, creating a solid foundation for the country to develop prosperously in the new era.

Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh, highly appreciated the significance and influence of the Award. He said that, in addition to traditional communication methods, awards such as “Technology from the Heart” are creative communication methods, helping to strongly spread the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW, while inspiring society, especially those who are directly working in the fields of production, business, science and technology. From vivid pictures and inspirational videos, the public can feel the strong transformation of the country, encouraging the spirit of innovation, daring to think, daring to do and constantly creating.

Mr. Le Quoc Minh emphasized: Journalists today not only need to write good articles and take beautiful photos, but also need to know how to use technology - from simple devices such as smartphones and cameras, to more complex technologies such as artificial intelligence to filter data and detect information.

Thus, the Award not only creates a playground for authors who love art and technology, but also opens a new approach in communication work, encouraging the application of technology to tell stories, to spread beauty and human values in modern life. The Organizing Committee hopes that every journalist, photographer, videographer, as well as every citizen who loves technology, will continue to accompany the Award in the coming years, contributing to portraying a vivid picture of the digital transformation in Vietnam.

The announcement and award ceremony of the 2nd “Technology with heart” Award is scheduled to take place on October 23. The outstanding works will be displayed and introduced to the public at Tao Dan Flower Garden, Cua Nam Ward (Hanoi).

The second “Technology with Heart” Award is not only an occasion to honor technology, but also a place to affirm the humanistic values, creativity and innovation spirit of Vietnamese people.
