The Viettel Award seeks groundbreaking technology ideas.

Innovative-me is Viettel 's internal award, held annually to foster innovation and discover breakthrough technologies. Any of the 70,000 employees across 38 agencies and units and 10 markets worldwide have the opportunity to participate, win an award, and turn their ideas into reality.

The projects presented at Innovative-me 2024 are groundbreaking technologies with significant social impact in the fields of digital technology , information security, defense industry, and sustainable development.

Having gone through preliminary rounds at the grassroots level, the Innovative-me final round received 2.5 times more entries than the previous year. Besides the judges' evaluation, the competition received over 300,000 votes from employees within the Group.

This year's top award, Best of Innovative-me 2024, went to the Lumitel team, Viettel's brand in Burundi, for their idea of ​​a digital platform connecting people in the Kavumu refugee camp – Burundi's largest refugee camp – with local authorities, international organizations such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), businesses, and Burundian citizens.

In addition to the top prize, Innovative-me 2024 includes three categories: Excellence Awards for business and production ideas; Sustainability Awards for sustainable development ideas; and Amazing Awards for technologies not yet available in Vietnam. Ideas focus on exploiting the latest applications of AI technology, space computing platforms, automation, alternative fuels, etc.

Innovative-me is one of the activities promoting innovation within Viettel, alongside Viettel Innovation Day (June 1st annually) and daily initiatives and ideas implemented for the past 25 years, as well as the initiative and idea management software maintained for the past 15 years.

“Many people think that innovation means creating something so grand that the entire Viettel group knows about it, admires it, and shares it with tens of thousands of people… In reality, innovation at Viettel is simply finding a new way to work or making our work more efficient and excellent every day. Viettel places the burden of innovation on the shoulders of all its members so that this energy is limitless,” said Major General Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and CEO of the Group, at the awards ceremony.

In 2023 and the first six months of 2024, Viettel recorded 464 initiatives and ideas from its employees. Recently, Viettel received 10 awards for Youth Innovation in the Military and is the leading enterprise in terms of the number of awards at the IT World Awards with its technology solutions.
