Viettel Awards look for breakthrough technology ideas

Innovative-me is Viettel 's internal award, held annually to promote the spirit of innovation and search for breakthrough technologies. Any of the 70,000 employees from 38 agencies, units and 10 markets worldwide have the opportunity to participate, receive awards and turn their ideas into reality.

The projects presented at Innovative-me 2024 are breakthrough technologies with great social impact in the fields of digital technology , information security, defense industry, and sustainable development.

After the preliminary round from the grassroots level, the final round of Innovative – me received 2.5 times more entries than the previous year. In addition to the evaluation of the Jury, the contest received more than 300 thousand votes from employees in the Group.

This year's highest award, Best of Innovative-me 2024, went to the Lumitel team, Viettel's brand in Burundi, with the idea of ​​a digital platform connecting people at Kavumu refugee camp - the largest refugee camp in Burundi - with local authorities, international organizations such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), businesses and people of Burundi.

In addition to the highest award, Innovative-me 2024 includes 3 categories: Excellence Awards for business production ideas; Sustainability Awards for sustainable development ideas; Amazing Awards for technologies not yet available in Vietnam. The ideas focus on exploiting the latest applications of AI technology, space computing platforms, automation, alternative fuels, etc.

Innovative – me is one of the activities to promote innovation in Viettel, besides Viettel Innovation Day (June 1 every year) and daily initiative and idea activities that have been implemented for the past 25 years, as well as the initiative and idea management software that has been maintained for the past 15 years.

“Many people think that creativity means creating something so great that the whole Viettel must know, must be amazed, must be popularized to tens of thousands of people... In fact, creativity at Viettel is simply finding a new way to work or making our work more effective, more excellent every day. Viettel puts creativity on the shoulders of all members so that this energy is limitless,” said Major General Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of the Group, at the Award Ceremony.

In 2023 and the first 6 months of 2024, Viettel recorded 464 innovative ideas from its staff. Recently, Viettel received 10 Creative Youth Awards in the Army and is the leading enterprise in the number of awards at the IT World Awards with technology solutions.
