Meeting of the Emulation Cluster of Journalists Associations of provinces and cities along Highway 6

On September 30, the Hanoi Journalists Association hosted the 2024 Emulation Cluster Conference of the Journalists Associations of provinces and cities along National Highway 6 and the Workshop "Journalism Economy in the New Period". Attending the Conference were representatives of units in the Emulation Cluster including: Hanoi, Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Hoa Binh ; leaders of departments, branches and sectors of Hanoi city.

In 2024, the Standing Committee of the Journalists' Association in the cluster closely followed the direction of the Vietnam Journalists' Association , the City Party Committees, Provincial Party Committees, and Provincial and City People's Committees to do a good job of political education for members and journalists; the activities of the Journalists' Associations in the emulation cluster continued to be innovated, the quality was improved, and there was close coordination and connection. The press agencies organized well and actively participated in patriotic emulation movements and press competitions launched by the Central, the province, and the city. To date, the entire emulation cluster has 1,477 members who have been granted membership cards of the Vietnam Journalists' Association for the period 2021-2026.

At the conference, a workshop with the theme "Press economy in the new period" took place. Delegates presented papers, shared experiences and solutions to build a roadmap for press economic development in the current period; difficulties and challenges of press agencies in finding new models and sources of revenue, especially in the context of revenue from advertising on electronic newspapers facing competition from social networking platforms; investing in developing technology platforms to expand the coverage of newspapers on media channels and social networks, building a digital press ecosystem, creating revenue from digital advertising...

Also at the conference, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes for the journalism contest on the topic "Thousand-year convergence of Thang Long - Hanoi culture" to 31 winning works, including: 1 special prize, 3 first prizes, 5 second prizes, 7 third prizes and 15 consolation prizes; awarded the rotating Flag of the Head of the Emulation Cluster in 2025 to the Lai Chau Provincial Journalists Association.
