Teacher Pham Thi Hoa, Principal of Nguyen Viet Xuan High School (Vinh Tuong) said: “Proud to be a school named after a national hero, the students of the school always understand the sacrifices of previous generations for the cause of building and defending the country. This pride has inspired and motivated the students to actively strive to practice and study.
To educate students about revolutionary traditions, the school has increased the organization of patriotic education topics, fostered historical knowledge, launched a painting contest praising "Uncle Ho's soldiers", praising the joy of national reunification. Organized the extracurricular program "The country is full of joy" with the participation of historical witnesses such as veteran Nguyen Van Thoi, Tho Tang town, a 1/4-class disabled soldier who participated in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign in the Spring General Offensive and Uprising in 1975; teacher Phung Xuan Ha, a former teacher of the school who volunteered to join the army, participating in the resistance war against the US to save the country in 1972 when he was a 3rd year student at Hanoi Pedagogical University and Mr. Nguyen Viet Lai, son of People's Armed Forces Hero Nguyen Viet Xuan.
Along with the stories of historical witnesses, the students staged and performed a number of art performances such as “The Girl Who Opened the Road”, “The Saigon Girl Who Carried Ammunition”, the song “The Country Full of Joy”… to recreate the heroic atmosphere of the country’s historic April days.
Moved by hearing historical witnesses recount unforgettable moments, Bach Thi Thu Trang, a student of class 11A7 at Nguyen Viet Xuan High School, said: “I truly admire and am grateful when I hear Uncle Nguyen Van Thoi talk about the battles in which bombs and stray bullets fell, and the moment when his arm was cut off by a piece of artillery shell and many small pieces were embedded in his body, or the memories of Uncle Nguyen Viet Lai when he was only 3 years old when he heard the news of his father's death on the Quang Binh battlefield in a fierce battle. The blood and sacrifices that cannot be fully described in words by previous generations of fathers and brothers have given us the peace we have today. We are always grateful and promise to strive to study, practice morality, and cultivate knowledge to follow in the footsteps of our fathers and brothers, to bring glory to our homeland and country, worthy of the tradition of the school named after the national hero Nguyen Viet Xuan”.
At each level of education, activities to educate students about revolutionary ideals and arouse their desire to contribute are carried out by teachers in age-appropriate forms with familiar and practical content.
Ms. Do Thi Thu Huong, Vice Principal of Dong Ich Primary School (Lap Thach) said: “In the joyful atmosphere of celebrating the important event of the country, the school organized many extracurricular activities with the theme "Heroic Vietnam"; organized book reading activities, displayed pictures recreating the content of historical stories, and educated traditions through the subject of Local Education. At the same time, organized flag-raising activities, storytelling competitions about heroes Kim Dong, Phan Dinh Giot, Nguyen Viet Xuan, Le Van Tam... The school's student representative, Tran Xuan Phuc, class 2I, won first prize in solo singing with a performance praising hero Le Van Tam at the district-level Primary School Singing Contest for the 2024-2025 school year. The activities to educate about revolutionary ideals and historical traditions have helped students be more proud of the heroic traditions of the nation, fostering love for their homeland and country in their hearts".
Proudly marching under the Party flag, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, many Party branches and committees at educational institutions have organized Party admissions for students aged 18 and above, who are excellent people with high achievements in studying and are exemplary and active in movements and activities, and have enough qualities, abilities and ideals to stand in the ranks of the Party. This is both a source of pride and a motivation for them to continue to strive, train their mettle and aspire to contribute in the new era of the country.
In the context of national construction and development, deep international integration, the work of education and personality development, nurturing revolutionary ideals, aspirations to contribute to the young generation, raising awareness for youth, adolescents and children is an important task and great responsibility of the education and training sector and mass organizations and localities.
To continue to effectively carry out this activity, the teaching staff plays a particularly important role because teachers are not only the ones who impart knowledge but also the moral role models who inspire and arouse the aspirations of students. Therefore, fostering and improving the professional qualifications, ideological and political education and professional qualities of the teaching staff is an important task in the current period.
