Commenting on the English exam, one of the elective subjects with a large number of candidates registering for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, English teachers said that this year's exam took a new approach in terms of question organization. In which all the questions were related to practical passages instead of short multiple choice questions like previous years.
The focus of the exam is not on memorizing grammar and vocabulary alone, but is integrated into paragraphs to assess candidates' reading comprehension, word usage, reasoning and language application in practical contexts, instead of just memorizing grammar and vocabulary. The test accurately and quite fully assesses the specific abilities of English, especially reading comprehension, language reasoning, and using English in daily communication. These abilities are specified to serve the students' future careers related to the skills of reading documents, processing information in English, logical reasoning from text, and choosing the appropriate language for specific communication situations - all of which are essential skills for students in the learning, working, and international integration environments.
The 2025 High School Graduation Exam in English has also shown a clear convergence with the goal of developing foreign language proficiency in the 2018 General Education Program. Instead of testing discrete knowledge, the exam focuses on exploiting reading comprehension, semantic thinking and language application in situations close to academic and professional life. This approach not only encourages students to learn to understand - learn to use English but also creates a reasonable differentiation between average - good - excellent students, and therefore limits the number of maximum scores and high scores will not be many.
Regarding the Geography exam, Geography teachers commented that although there were many changes in both structure and content, the exam still ensured differentiation, suitable for both graduation recognition and university admission purposes. The average score is predicted to be 7 points.
Regarding Biology, teachers said that the exam clearly showed a close approach to the updated and modern spirit that the 2018 General Education Program is aiming for. The questions are no longer limited to dry theories but are linked to practical contexts such as Freshwater Lake Ecology, science and technology such as gene sequencing, and modern biological issues such as Recombinant DNA Technology. For Chemistry, this year's exam also reflects the updated and modern spirit of the new program, focusing on assessing the ability to apply Chemistry knowledge into practice. To conquer this exam, students need to deeply understand the nature, avoid depending on quick tips or tricks.
