Faced with the pressure of increased electricity demand during the peak of the hot season, the staff and workers of Thai Nguyen Power Company have intensified their efforts to maintain power lines and substations, ensuring safe and stable electricity supply for the people. Behind the uninterrupted power supply are night shifts, urgent response, and the tireless efforts of the electricians.

Workers from Thai Nguyen Power Company worked through the night to deal with a localized overload incident.

In late May, temperatures in Thai Nguyen reached 39-40 degrees Celsius at many times, leading to a surge in electricity demand. The peak capacity for 2026 has already reached approximately 1,300 MW, with commercial electricity output fluctuating between 25-26 million kWh/day.

To ensure uninterrupted power supply, the entire operational management force of Thai Nguyen Power Company has entered a state of peak readiness. From the control center to the subordinate power companies, shifts have been increased.

Technical staff continuously monitor the load, supervise equipment remotely and on-site, proactively balance the load, and promptly handle localized incidents to minimize power outage time.

In key areas such as Pho Yen, Song Cong, Dai Tu, and Dong Hy, the operation and maintenance teams had almost no days off during the peak of the hot season. Some nights, after resolving a problem in one area, workers would immediately move to another location to restore power supply, serving the daily lives and production needs of the people.

Mr. Luong Xuan Loc, Deputy Head of the General Management Team (Thai Nguyen Power Company), shared: "There are days when our team works through the night, only completing the task near dawn. Despite the hardship, everyone encourages each other to keep trying because behind us are thousands of households, businesses, and students who need a stable power supply for their daily lives, studies, and production."

In parallel with the task of ensuring electricity supply for daily life and production, Thai Nguyen Power Company is proactively implementing plans to provide safe and continuous electricity for the 2026 high school entrance exam.

Electricity companies have reviewed all power lines and substations supplying electricity to examination sites; intensified inspections and promptly addressed potential safety hazards on the power grid; and deployed personnel to operate and handle incidents 24/7. Backup generators and essential materials and equipment have been fully prepared to ensure stable power supply throughout the examination period.

During peak periods of hot weather, the hotline repair team of Thai Nguyen Power Company is mobilized to the maximum extent to repair and replace equipment on the power grid without having to cut off power to customers, thereby minimizing power supply disruptions.

Under the scorching sun, workers in specialized insulated protective clothing directly operate on high-voltage power lines.

Mr. Tran Van Tuan, Deputy Director of Thai Nguyen Power Company, said: "Although the load has increased due to the heatwave, the company has identified ensuring electricity supply for the people and the examinations as a priority. The company has fully prepared plans to ensure safe and continuous electricity supply in all situations."

According to forecasts, hot weather will continue with many widespread heatwaves during the summer of 2026. Thai Nguyen Power Company advises people, agencies, and businesses to use electricity safely, economically, and efficiently to reduce pressure on the power system.

The unit also encourages the development of rooftop solar power integrated with battery storage systems in a self-production, self-consumption format to ensure a reliable power source, reduce operating costs, and move towards the development of green and sustainable energy.
