Ms. Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee, was pleased that the investment of the Xuyen A - Tay Nguyen Hospital Project in the province has shared the burden on the state budget in the health sector. In Gia Lai province, Mr. Ly Minh Thai, Deputy Director in charge of the provincial Department of Health, shared that this year, Dak Doa, Mang Yang, An Khe, and Ayun Pa Medical Centers will be repaired and upgraded. In the 2023-2025 period, the locality will invest in 77 medical stations, CDC Gia Lai, and Duc Co District Medical Center.

In particular, the Krong Pa and Phu Thien District Medical Centers have been included in the 2026 public investment plan. The province also has a project to invest in Hospital 331, with a total capital of 300 billion VND; invest in the maternity block - Children's Hospital, with a total capital of 200 billion VND; invest in the Kbang District Medical Center, with a total capital of 110 billion VND... When these projects are completed, they will basically solve the material facilities serving medical examination and treatment for people in the province.

Improve the skills of medical staff

The health sector in the Central Highlands provinces is implementing many solutions to retain medical staff and improve local human resources. Doctor CKII Trinh Van Quyet, Deputy Director of Lam Dong Department of Health, said that the Department of Health is coordinating with departments and sectors to review and research preferential policies to attract medical staff to work in the province and training regimes and training cost compensation.

The Department of Health has coordinated with the Department of Home Affairs to propose policies to attract and support human resource development in Lam Dong province until 2030. At the same time, it is recommended that the Ministry of Health propose to competent authorities to have specific policies on public housing for medical staff, creating conditions for many medical staff who are currently facing difficulties to work with peace of mind and stay with the public health system for a long time...

According to Ly Minh Thai, Deputy Director in charge of Gia Lai Department of Health, it is necessary to quickly change and supplement policies to match the efforts of the medical staff. The recruitment, use, training and development of this team needs special treatment.

Sharing the same view, Mr. Nay Phi La, Director of the Department of Health of Dak Lak province, said that to solve the problem of human resources, in addition to new recruitment, the Department of Health has strengthened postgraduate training for officials with medical doctor qualifications; fostered and improved practical skills for professional and specialized positions; gradually improved professional qualifications, leadership and management capacity; practical skills according to job positions on the basis of enhancing training quality in accordance with planning, developing resources at units to deploy specialized medical technical services.
