The tech giant Google has just marked the biggest transformation in the more than 25-year history of its search engine by launching a new generation of AI agents.

Completely different from the traditional search model—which only responds once a user request—these information agents are designed to operate continuously in the background. They are capable of proactively monitoring, processing, and supporting long-term tasks, helping users stay up-to-date on the latest developments in their areas of interest without having to repeat the search every day.

Essentially, this new agent technology represents the next evolution of Google Alerts, a service launched in 2003, but possesses significantly more power than simple text notifications. Instead of just providing a list of raw links, these AI agents can automatically synthesize information from multiple sources, analyze the core nature of an event, compare opposing viewpoints, and offer highly practical insights to users.

The practical applications of this technology extend across many areas of life and work. For financial investors, they can set up a specialized information assistant to monitor the stock market, track price fluctuations of specific stocks, summarize periodic financial reports, or receive instant alerts when breaking news changes economic trends.

Additionally, ordinary users can also apply these features to daily tasks such as automatically tracking fluctuations in airline ticket prices for upcoming holidays, receiving live updates on sporting events, monitoring the real estate market, or supervising weather conditions and traffic density in real time.

To activate this feature, users simply need to open AI Mode in the Search tool and enter a command directly using natural language. For example, with the command "Please update me on recent movie ticket prices for 'The Mandalorian and Grogu'", the system will automatically scan data continuously and send push notifications as soon as new information appears.

The entire list of monitored topics will be stored in the AI Mode history, allowing users to easily manage, make in-depth adjustments, or turn off alerts when no longer needed.

In addition to informational tools, Google also introduced a completely redesigned "smart search box" interface optimized for long, conversational queries. The new AI-powered query suggestion system goes beyond traditional autocomplete, allowing users to easily tailor their searches to the specific context.

According to the company's announcement, this intelligent information assistant system will officially launch this summer. Initially, Google will test this feature with users who subscribe to the Google AI Pro and Ultra service packages in the United States, before optimizing the language to expand this new wave of technology to other countries and markets around the world .
