Recently, after sorting, plastic bottles and cans have been collected by members of the Women's Union of Thanh Sen Ward and placed in the "Green House for Ecological Saving" located along the streets surrounding the community cultural centers. This activity not only contributes to raising environmental awareness but also creates a habit of sorting waste at source for members and residents.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, a member of the Women's Association in residential area 3, Thanh Sen ward, shared: “Previously, many types of plastic bottles and cans were often mixed with household waste after use. Since participating in the “Green House for Ecological Savings” model, my family and I have formed the habit of sorting waste at home. These seemingly worthless recyclable materials, when collected and sold to raise funds, can help those in difficult circumstances. Therefore, everyone actively participates and considers this a meaningful and practical activity.”

Ms. Tran Thi Hanh, Vice President of the Women's Union of Thanh Sen Ward, said: “To date, all 80/80 women's union branches in residential areas throughout the ward have built and maintained the "Green, Eco-friendly House" model. Through linking it with waste sorting at source, the collection of recyclable waste is carried out more smoothly, contributing to reducing the amount of waste released into the environment. In addition, from the collection of recyclable waste, we create a fund for the union to implement social welfare activities. From July 2025 to the present, through the collection of recyclable waste, the branches have raised nearly 230 million VND to support disadvantaged people and carry out many charitable activities.”
In Yen Hoa commune, the "Green House for Charity Fundraising" model, implemented by the Women's Union in 22 out of 24 village branches, is creating a positive ripple effect in the community. Not only does it contribute to environmental protection and the implementation of sustainable new rural development criteria, but this approach is also generating funds for the branches to carry out social welfare activities.

From July 2025 to the present, thanks to this model, the branches have collected over 15 million VND from selling scrap materials, thereby providing nearly 50 gifts to disadvantaged families and children in the area. Although the gifts are not of great monetary value, they contain the affection and sharing spirit of the women's association members, contributing to spreading the spirit of mutual support and responsibility to the community and multiplying many meaningful actions in social life.

Receiving a meaningful gift on the occasion of International Children's Day on June 1st from the Women's Association of Ho Phuong village (Yen Hoa commune), Tran Thi Thao Nhi could not hide her emotion: “My family is in difficult circumstances; my father is often ill, and my mother works far away. I am very happy to receive gifts from the aunts and uncles. This is a source of encouragement for me to try my best in my studies and strive for a better life.”
Despite having different names in different localities such as "Green House for Ecological Savings," "Green House for Charity Fundraising," or "Recycling House," these are all innovative and practical models implemented by women's associations at all levels in carrying out the campaign to build "Families with 5 No's and 3 Cleanliness Standards." Not only do these models contribute to raising awareness of environmental protection, but they also generate funds to support social welfare activities at the grassroots level.
To date, the province has built more than 1,500 models of "Green Houses for Ecological Savings," "Green Houses for Charitable Fundraising," and "Recycling Houses" in 69 communes and wards, generating over 1.2 billion VND annually from the sale of recycled materials. From this funding, women's associations at all levels have supported livelihoods for poor women members, provided health insurance cards to members in difficult circumstances, sponsored orphans, and implemented many meaningful humanitarian and charitable activities. Through these efforts, they have contributed to spreading the spirit of mutual support, promoting community responsibility, and building a green, clean, and sustainable living environment.

Ms. Truong Thi Luong, Vice President of the Ha Tinh Provincial Women's Union, said: "Through the implementation of this model, many members and residents who previously lacked the habit of sorting waste have proactively collected, sorted, and retained various types of recyclable materials to participate in fundraising. In the future, the Women's Union at all levels will continue to expand the model, linking it with emulation movements and campaigns of the Provincial Women's Union, contributing to building a green, clean, and beautiful living environment; and at the same time spreading humanitarian values in the community."
Small actions by women's associations at all levels are creating positive changes in the awareness and actions of members and the public regarding environmental protection in Ha Tinh. More than just collection points for recyclable waste, these special "houses" have become bridges of responsibility, sharing, and community spirit, contributing to building a civilized and compassionate life at the grassroots level.
