Ha Giang prepares to auction 28 mineral mines

The auction will be held in 2025, starting from the second quarter and divided into 2 phases. Mines included in this year's auction plan that have not been auctioned, are unsuccessful or have problems will be transferred to the auction of mineral exploitation rights in the following years.

The purpose of the auction is to manage, exploit and use mineral resources reasonably and economically, promote mineral potential, attract investment to effectively exploit resources to increase budget revenue. In addition, it meets the demand for construction materials to serve socio-economic development.

This is the second year that Ha Giang province has organized an auction for mineral exploitation rights. Previously, from September 30 to October 2, 2024, the Ha Giang Provincial Auction Service Center organized an auction for mineral exploitation rights for 12 stone, sand and gravel quarries.

As a result, all mines were successfully auctioned with a total auction price of about 600 billion VND. However, the auction results of some mines attracted public attention because the winning price was pushed up much higher than the starting price.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ha Giang province has reviewed and evaluated the reality and determined that there are 7 stone, sand and gravel mines with auction results many times higher than the starting price (the lowest increase is 20.1 times and the highest is 80.15 times).

After the People's Committee of Ha Giang province directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Justice, and the provincial police to review the documents and implementation work related to the auction of mineral exploitation rights, many enterprises and cooperatives won the auction and then abandoned their deposits.
