According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Giang province, Nguyen Van Son, Ha Giang aims to promote tourism growth in a green and sustainable direction, creating a strong transformation in service quality; building and positioning the Ha Giang tourism brand associated with a unique and distinctive image, deeply rooted in ethnic cultural identity.
More and more people born and raised in the rocky landscape are going away to learn and then returning to Ha Giang to transform the simple things of their villages into tourism products.
Ms. Trieu Thi Tinh, deputy director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Giang province, said that many young people have started businesses in tourism in the locality, choosing to use tourism to preserve culture and use culture to develop tourism.

With a clear development direction and the return of young talent to their homeland, tourism in Ha Giang is increasingly taking off. In the first six months of 2024 alone, Ha Giang welcomed nearly 1.7 million tourists, including nearly 223,000 international visitors and over 1.4 million domestic visitors. Total tourism revenue is estimated at 4,200 billion VND.
Ha Giang has consistently been included in lists and rankings of the world's most attractive tourist destinations. The New York Times ranked Ha Giang among the top 25 out of 52 most attractive destinations in the world in 2023. The Nam Dam Cultural Village received the 3rd ASEAN Award for Community Tourism (2023). In September 2023, Ha Giang received the "Leading Emerging Tourist Destination in Asia" award.
This year, Ha Giang continues to be nominated in the "Leading Regional Cultural Destination in Asia" category. The recognition from international tourists for Ha Giang further affirms the position of this rocky plateau region on the world tourism map.
