In Ha Hoa district, there is the Hanoi -Lao Cai expressway running through it for a length of 21km; 3 national highways (QL2D, QL70B, QL32C) with a total length of 78.8km; 3 provincial roads (DT314; DT320D; DT321B) with a total length of 41.2km; and 1367.25km of rural roads. Therefore, the district has intensified efforts to establish traffic safety corridors to ensure traffic safety and curb traffic accidents.

Ha Hoa establishes order in traffic safety corridors.

Authorities are raising awareness and reminding business owners to ensure traffic safety along the central road of Ha Hoa town.

Recently, ensuring order in road safety corridors in the district has been difficult due to the low level of compliance with traffic laws and state regulations on road safety among some people. There are still instances of constructing makeshift stalls, leaving construction materials, firewood, and timber encroaching on road safety corridors; and conducting business and holding markets on the road and sidewalks. These violations of road safety corridors directly affect the visibility of drivers, posing a potential risk to traffic safety and the aesthetics of both sides of the road.

Implementing legal regulations on the management and protection of road safety corridors, the District Road Safety Committee, in coordination with various organizations, has directed communes and towns to intensify widespread propaganda efforts to every household regarding the importance of clearing road corridors, raising public awareness of compliance with road safety corridor regulations; effectively managing road safety corridors; and placing traffic signs at intersections with priority roads. Simultaneously, functional units of the district and localities have conducted inspections and handled violations on road routes. Currently, communes and towns have developed self-managed road models, contributing to the protection of the transportation infrastructure system in the area.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Men, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Hoa town, informed: “To ensure traffic safety corridor order, functional forces have coordinated with the local authorities to organize campaigns to clear and dismantle illegal advertising signs and stalls; clear trees and bushes within the land designated for roads. For cases of violations, functional forces require signing commitments to cease encroaching on traffic safety corridors, restoring space to ensure safety for pedestrians and vehicles. After these campaigns, the town will continue to disseminate information, inspect, and promptly handle re-encroachment to raise awareness of voluntarily complying with urban order and traffic safety laws, and build a cultured and civilized urban lifestyle in the area.”

Along with the road transport system, the district has the Yen Vien - Lao Cai railway line running through it for a length of 29km. There are 85 road-rail crossings in the district, including 2 guarded level crossings; 8 locations with automatic warning systems and automatic barriers; and 75 unauthorized crossings over the railway (6 of which have guards). The District People's Committee has directed the People's Committees of communes and towns to clear trees obstructing visibility at all road-rail crossings in the district; and to coordinate with Vinh Phu Railway Joint Stock Company to ensure the safety of unauthorized crossings over the railway.

The effective implementation of traffic safety corridor management has facilitated travel and trade, promoting socio-economic development in the district.
