Hanoi adjusts night traffic on Nhat Tan Bridge

From July 25 to August 18, the Hanoi Department of Construction will implement a plan to construct traffic items on Nhat Tan Bridge and the approach road, including installing gantry cranes and traffic lane barriers. This will entail many adjustments in traffic organization, especially at night.

Night traffic adjustment on Nhat Tan Bridge for construction of gantry crane and lane divider fence.

In order to minimize the impact on the people, the entire construction process of Nhat Tan Bridge will be carried out mainly from 10pm the night before to 5am the next morning. The two main stages of construction of the foundation pit and installation of gantry cranes, and construction of traffic lane separation barriers are most notable.

Specifically, from 10pm to 5am every day, the authorities will block off 1/3 of the bridge in both directions of Dong Anh - Tay Ho to construct the foundation pit for the Long Mon bridge. Motorbikes will be allowed to circulate on the remaining 2/3 of the road.

In particular, from 0:00 to 4:00 a.m., Nhat Tan Bridge will prohibit all traffic in both directions to install gantry frames. During this time, people are advised to move to Thang Long Bridge or other bridges to avoid congestion and ensure safety.

For the construction of the lane divider fence, the working time is also from 10pm to 5am the next morning. Each construction will fence off 1/3 of the bridge surface, close to the motorbike lane, with each section about 300m long. Motorbikes are still allowed to circulate on the remaining road. The implementation will be carried out in each direction, first in the direction of Vo Chi Cong - Noi Bai, then in the opposite direction.

According to the Hanoi Department of Construction, during the day, Nhat Tan Bridge will operate normally according to current traffic conditions, with no changes or barriers maintained after construction hours.

To ensure traffic safety at night, construction units are required to install adequate signs, warning lights, and barriers from a distance of 200m, add 40km/h speed limit signs in mixed lanes, and closely coordinate with the Traffic Police in remote traffic control and on-site guidance.

In addition, construction equipment, materials and vehicles must be located within the fenced area, and the site must be returned immediately upon completion, without obstructing traffic. All vehicles participating in the construction must be properly licensed and have a 24/7 contact point to quickly handle any problems that may arise.
