Hanoi earned nearly 2 trillion VND from tourism during the September 2nd holiday.

Hanoi Tourism Department estimates that 672,900 visitors will visit the capital during the National Day holiday on September 2nd, a 5% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
According to the report on the results of the 4-day holiday (August 31 - September 3), the total number of tourists visiting Hanoi was estimated at 58,900 international tourists, an increase of 35.8% compared to the same period last year. Some of the leading source markets included: India, South Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan (China), Australia, the US, and the UK. Domestic tourists were estimated at 614,000, a slight increase of 3.6% compared to the same period last year. This year, tourist areas and attractions around the suburbs showed a surge in visitors. Total revenue from tourism was estimated at over 2.18 trillion VND, an increase of 8.3% compared to the same period in 2023.

This year's National Day holiday lasted four days, leading to a surge in demand for leisure and travel. It is estimated that during the four-day holiday, the average occupancy rate for hotels and tourist apartments reached approximately 61.2%, a 1.7% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Some 4-5 star hotels and high-end apartment complexes in Tay Ho and Dong Da districts achieved quite high occupancy rates, ranging from 80% to 100%. Shopping malls and businesses offering shopping, entertainment, and dining services for tourists all recorded significant increases in customer numbers and revenue during the four-day holiday. Tourist attractions and destinations were decorated and prepared to welcome tourists and Hanoi residents for visits and experiences. Many programs and festivals celebrating Independence Day were successfully organized, attracting a large number of tourists, such as: the pedestrian area around Hoan Kiem Lake and its surroundings, and pedestrian streets in the Old Quarter with many vibrant and attractive cultural and artistic activities; the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village in Son Tay town with the "Celebrating Independence Day" program; and Bao Son Paradise Park in Hoai Duc district with the "Fairyland Festival" program... During this year's holiday, in addition to familiar tourist destinations in Hanoi such as: the Temple of Literature; Hoan Kiem Lake area; Thang Long Imperial Citadel; One Pillar Pagoda; Thu Le Zoo, or strolling around the city center to admire the ancient and tranquil streets…, new tourist destinations including entertainment complexes such as Lotte Mall Tay Ho; Vinhomes Ocean Park, and suburban tourist areas and attractions also continued to attract a large number of tourists for recreation, experiences, and relaxation. In addition, the Department of Tourism, in coordination with the Thang Long Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center and the Vietnamese Village Club, organized the "Ao Dai Parade Connecting Tourism with Hanoi Heritage 2024" program, attracting a large number of tourists and receiving active participation from officials, civil servants of agencies and units, and the people of Hanoi, as well as domestic and international tourists. According to the Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, Dang Huong Giang, security and safety measures have been seriously implemented by accommodation and tourism service establishments. The Department's "hotline" has assisted and provided information to over 90 tourists who called, ensuring that tourists were welcomed thoughtfully.
