Tourism products from Hanoi's traditional craft villages always hold great appeal for visitors.

To further boost tourism activities from now until the end of the year, and to "catch the wave" of tourism during the Lunar New Year, from December 11-14, 2025, the Hanoi Department of Tourism will organize the Hanoi Traditional Craft Village and Street Food and Tourism Festival at the Tay Ho Creative Cultural Space (Tay Ho Ward).

This is a large-scale tourism promotion event aimed at honoring the value of traditional craft villages, promoting cuisine , and introducing unique destinations of the capital city to the public. With the theme "Hundreds of exquisite crafts, thousands of flavors spreading," the event features 80-100 booths covering an area of approximately 5,000 square meters .

The main spaces include: a craft village and street tourism space with the theme "Traditional and Modern Craft Villages"; a space showcasing the finest Hanoi cuisine - "The Flavors of Yesteryear"; and a space promoting tourist destinations - "Strolling Through Hanoi".

In the craft village area, Hanoi has selected several representative craft villages such as Bat Trang pottery; Van Phuc silk; Ha Thai lacquerware; Quat Dong embroidery, Phu Vinh rattan and bamboo weaving, Ngu Xa bronze casting… Among them, the highlight is the two craft villages recognized as members of the World Creative Cities Network - Bat Trang pottery village and Van Phuc silk village.

The exhibition area showcases unique products from traditional craft villages combined with tourism, categorized into two groups: traditional values and modern designs, reflecting the connection from the past to the present. These include ceramics, wood and gilded lacquerware, bronze casting, silk, lacquerware, inlay work, etc.

The chosen craft street tourism space showcases the beauty of old Hanoi, with a focus on the story of Hang Ma craft street during the Lunar New Year season.

Here, visitors can admire artifacts, documentary photos, models recreating traditional stalls, and typical products of the craft street such as Lunar New Year decorations, Mid-Autumn Festival toys, and clay figurines. The space also combines demonstrations of crafting techniques and product creation on-site, as well as introductions to craft village tours, helping visitors gain a deeper understanding of the cultural and historical value of Hanoi's craft street.

In addition, the culinary space of Hanoi brings together many famous delicacies such as beef pho, bun cha, egg coffee, West Lake shrimp cakes, along with specialties from traditional craft villages such as Lang Vong rice flakes, Phu Thuong sticky rice, and Thanh Tri rice rolls…

The organizers also arranged a space recreating an old Hanoi house, a lotus tea brewing demonstration, and cooking activities with artisans and chefs to provide an authentic and emotionally rich culinary and cultural experience.

The destination promotion area displays miniature models of many prominent landmarks and symbols of the capital city such as Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Temple of Literature, Long Bien Bridge, and Turtle Tower on Hoan Kiem Lake; it also features artistic photographs of Hanoi's culture, architecture, and traditional crafts.

Cultural tourism, with a focus on traditional craft villages and culinary values, has always been a strength of Hanoi. The festival is an opportunity for Hanoi to once again bring these values to the public.

The festival is chaired by the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in coordination with other departments, agencies, and local people's committees. The Tourism Information and Promotion Center directly organizes, designs the space, implements communication, and connects participating businesses and artisans.

The event contributes to promoting the image of the capital city as a "safe, friendly, high-quality, and attractive destination" to domestic and international tourists.
