Fireworks displays will be held at 31 locations during the Lunar New Year.
According to information presented at the meeting on preparations for Tet (Lunar New Year) organized by the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee on the morning of December 27th, the Hanoi Capital Command announced that Hanoi will have fireworks displays at 31 locations to celebrate the 2024 Lunar New Year. Each district and town will have one location, except for Hoan Kiem District which will have two. Compared to the 2023 Lunar New Year, Hanoi has increased the number of high-altitude fireworks display locations (from 7 to 9), with 600 fireworks at each location. There will also be 22 low-altitude locations with 120 fireworks stands each. Previously, during the 2022 Lunar New Year, Hanoi did not hold fireworks displays due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. During the meeting, Mr. Pham Tuan Long, Chairman of the Hoan Kiem District People's Committee, stated that during the New Year's Day celebrations, the district will hold a countdown festival at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square. In addition, the Ho Guom pedestrian street will also be open for four days during the New Year's holiday (from the evening of December 29th to January 1st, 2024) to serve the public for recreation.Lighting and decorations for Tet (Lunar New Year) must be "refined".
