Hanoi: Over 101,000 vocational training targets

According to Mr. Tran The Cuong - Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training - following career guidance activities such as collaborating with Tuoi Tre newspaper at annual admissions consultation days, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training plans to have career guidance activities to support junior high school and high school seniors who want to learn a trade.

The Capital Career Connection Day with the Labor Market is an event aimed at this goal. It is expected that 56 training institutions will participate in this event, including colleges, intermediate schools, vocational education centers, etc., to participate in enrollment consulting.

According to data from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, in 2025, vocational training units in Hanoi will have 101,025 enrollment targets, with more than 330 occupations at all levels and training levels.

Of which, there are 123 college-level occupations with over 26,500 targets, 148 intermediate-level occupations with over 34,000 targets and 225 elementary-level occupations with over 40,000 targets.

Within the framework of the above event, 50 businesses will participate in recruiting workers at the job fair, with about 3,000 job positions in 14 groups of fields and professions such as: electronic components manufacturing technology, mechanical processing technology, business and marketing, cooking, security, service, sales, cashier, technical staff, studying abroad, labor export, automotive technology, information technology, accounting, auditing, management, customer care...

At this festival, 23 units are expected to participate in displaying and introducing products, self-made training equipment models; demonstrating professional skills (drink mixing, baking, food processing, beauty, skin care, car painting...); practical experience of the profession; displaying book products.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training expects about 10,000 junior high and high school students from over 150 schools, students from vocational training institutions and workers in Hanoi to attend.

At the festival, in addition to enrollment consulting activities, product display, training equipment models, vocational skills experience, etc., there will be trading sessions, job introductions, and cooperation signing between training units and businesses.

According to Mr. Le Minh Thao, head of the Department of Continuing Education - Vocational Education and Higher Education, Hanoi Department of Education and Training, currently about 18% of students after graduating from secondary school participate in vocational training. To increase this rate, many solutions are needed to change the awareness of parents and students.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that there are currently about 600 - 700 businesses cooperating with vocational training institutions. Information to parents and students about this will be provided more promptly and fully in the future to create a change in awareness.

In addition, Mr. Thao also said that he is proposing that Hanoi city have a support policy for high school graduates choosing to study a trade.
