According to statistics from the Department of Crop Production and Livestock of Ha Tinh province, as of the morning of May 4th, nearly 6,000 hectares of spring rice in Ha Tinh province have been flattened by thunderstorms and strong winds. The natural disaster occurred precisely when the rice was ripening and ready for harvest, making the risk of reduced yield and quality of rice grains very real.
The storm has damaged rice crops in Bac Hong Linh ward and the communes of Ky Xuan, Cam Hung, Duc Thinh, Duc Quang, Tu My, Son Tien, Dong Kinh, Truong Luu, Cam Binh, etc. Many rice fields, ripe for harvest, are now being flattened, making harvesting difficult.
According to the leaders of Cam Lac commune, the storm caused more than 335 hectares of spring rice to be flattened, affecting yield. Currently, the commune is directing villages and hamlets to mobilize youth union members, women's association members, and other organizations to assist people in harvesting rice in low-lying areas; and deploying excavators to clear drainage ditches.
The storm also caused damage to many houses, with roofs blown off and high-voltage power lines damaged by fallen poles, directly affecting people's daily lives.

Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, the leaders of Ha Tinh province, along with the agricultural sector and local authorities, directed the recovery efforts.
Villages were instructed to mobilize local manpower and resources to clear the irrigation canals and drainage ditches in the fields.
Local authorities have proactively worked with combine harvester owners, flexibly distributing equipment across different regions. Priority is given to harvesting machines in low-lying areas and areas where rice crops have been severely flattened, taking advantage of any dry spells.
