
The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Hai Duong province has requested the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the district People's Committees and specialized units to closely inspect the management of urban trees, shade trees, and trees in traffic corridors, and to overcome the situation of fallen trees and unsafe conditions during the rainy and stormy season.
Direct and urge the People's Committees of districts, towns, cities, and urban tree management units to conduct a general review of the number of dangerous and unsafe trees to have plans and solutions for pruning trees with heavy canopies, rotten trees, dead trees, etc. Proactively develop and implement plans to handle cases of broken or fallen trees, clear the site, and clean up the scene to ensure traffic on routes managed by the Department of Construction.
The Department of Education and Training coordinates with the District People's Committee to inspect schools and vocational training facilities to provide guidance on safety measures when natural disasters, storms, thunderstorms, and tornadoes occur, and to prevent trees from breaking or falling, causing damage and affecting the safety of students, teachers, and school staff.

District People's Committees coordinate with relevant departments, branches and units to inspect and review the current status of trees on roads, residential areas, schools, agency headquarters, cultural houses... Develop plans and solutions to prune heavy-canopy trees, brace or cut down unsafe trees...
Localities should propagate and mobilize people to proactively check trees in residential areas and civil works, and not let tall trees or trees fall near power lines or houses, which pose potential dangers when natural disasters occur.
Provincial departments, branches, sectors and organizations proactively inspect, review and prune heavy-canopy trees, reduce height, cut down rotten and dead trees at agency headquarters, at risk of breaking or falling, and do not ensure safety, proactively prevent and minimize damage during the rainy and stormy season.
In 2024, due to the impact of storm No. 3 (storm Yagi), Hai Duong had over 100,000 trees broken and fallen, causing accidents, traffic jams and damage to some infrastructure works.
From the beginning of the year to May 19, along with restoring and caring for trees affected by the storm, the whole province has planted more than 438,000 additional trees scattered around traffic routes, schools, residential areas, industrial parks, etc.
