In “Queen of Tears” - the most popular Korean movie today, Kim Ji Won and Kwak Dong Yeon attracted attention when playing the roles of sisters with opposite personalities.
If Hong Hae In (Kim Ji Won) appears as a smart, talented, arrogant "queen" with a privileged life, Hong Soo Cheol (Kwak Dong Yeon) is portrayed as a shy younger brother, always causing trouble and struggling to find his place in his sister's shadow.
This is also the reason why Soo Cheol's actions often conflict with Hae In's ambitions, causing many influences in her life, especially in her efforts to develop the department store of the Queens Group.
On screen, Kim Ji Won and Kwak Dong Yeon were praised for their good chemistry as older sister and younger brother, especially in scenes where the two argued.
The fact that Hae In did not hesitate to "get physical" with his younger brother because he did not listen, dared to speak on the same level as his brother-in-law Baek Hyun Woo (Kim Soo Hyun), or whined and made demands even though he was "living off" Hyun Woo's house in Yongdu-ri... was praised for being natural but no less humorous.
Notably, this is not the first time Kim Ji Won and Kwak Dong Yeon have worked together on screen. The two had a stormy relationship in the movie “Fight for My Way” 7 years ago.
At that time, Kwak Dong Yeon played the role of Kim Moo Ki - the boyfriend who Choi Ae Ra (Kim Ji Won) took care of and worried about with all her heart - from paying the deposit for the house to giving her monthly allowance, but betrayed her to have an affair with the owner of a famous kimchi restaurant.
The scene where Ae Ra brings her boyfriend a new bike but accidentally catches Moo Ki with someone else is both realistic and humorous. After beating Moo Ki up with kimchi, Ae Ra can't help but painfully recall their past memories.
Kim Ji Won and Kwak Dong Yeon's acting in the scene was highly appreciated for their good chemistry, bringing laughter to the audience. Ae Ra's strong, somewhat crazy personality and Moo Ki's shyness and fear won points with fans, despite their characters being built in a funny situation.
