On the afternoon of October 29, nurse Ho Thi Hieu, an officer at Tra Tap Commune Health Station, Da Nang City, said that she had just entered Mo Lang roof (village 5, Tra Tap Commune) to successfully deliver a baby for mother HTN (21 years old).

That same morning, relatives called the Commune Health Station to inform them to take the pregnant woman Nhi to the station to give birth. However, due to heavy rain and floods, the family could not take the pregnant woman out, while the pregnant woman showed signs of water breaking and was about to give birth.

At 10am, nurse Hieu received a call from Nhi’s family asking for urgent help. After preparing all the necessary tools and medicines, nurses Hieu and Bui Xuan Bang went by motorbike to help.

Although the mountain road was only 5km long, it took two medical staff nearly 1.5 hours to reach Nhi's house.

“It was raining heavily, the road was slippery, and rocks and soil were sliding. When we got close to the destination, we had to leave our motorbike at a local’s house and continue walking,” said nurse Hieu.

At around 11:30 a.m., two medical staff members helped Nhi give birth successfully. The baby girl weighed 3.2 kg, and both mother and child were healthy.

At around 12 noon the same day, the work was completed. The two medical staff left the medicine, told the family to take care of the mother's health and left.

Also on the morning of October 29, while many areas of Da Nang city were deeply flooded due to prolonged heavy rain, the Logistics Department of Da Nang City Police organized forces and vehicles to support the pregnant woman NTHT (born in 1995, residing in Ha Nha commune) to cross the flood and safely reach Hoa Vang General Hospital.

Pregnant woman T. is 40 weeks pregnant and showing signs of labor while most of the roads in Ha Nha area are cut off and deeply flooded.

The medical force of Da Nang City Police also quickly coordinated to deploy an emergency evacuation plan, ensuring absolute safety for pregnant woman T.
