(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Amid torrential rain and landslides, two female nurses braved the floodwaters on both motorbike and foot to help a woman successfully give birth.

On the afternoon of October 29th, nurse Ho Thi Hieu, a staff member of the Tra Tap Commune Health Station in Da Nang City, reported that she had successfully assisted in the delivery of a baby for a 21-year-old woman named HTN in Mo Lang hamlet (village 5, Tra Tap commune).

That morning, relatives called the commune's health station to inform them that they needed to bring the pregnant woman, Nhi, to the station to give birth. However, due to the heavy rain and flooding, the family was unable to take her out, while she showed signs of her water breaking and was about to give birth.

At 10 a.m., nurse Hieu received a phone call from the family of pregnant woman Nhi requesting urgent assistance. After preparing all the necessary equipment and medications, nurses Hieu and Bui Xuan Bang rode their motorbike to provide support.

Despite traversing a mountainous area of ​​only 5km, it took the two medical staff nearly 1.5 hours to reach the home of the pregnant woman, Nhi.

"It was raining heavily, the roads were slippery, and there were landslides. As we got closer, we had to leave our motorbike at a villager's house and continue on foot," nurse Hieu shared.

Arriving at approximately 11:30 AM, the two medical staff members successfully assisted Ms. Nhi in giving birth to a baby girl weighing 3.2 kg. Both mother and child are healthy.

At around 12 PM that same day, the work was completed. The two medical staff left the medicine, instructed the family on how to take care of the mother's health, and then left.

Also on the morning of October 29th, amidst widespread flooding in Da Nang city due to prolonged heavy rain, the Logistics Department of the Da Nang City Police organized forces and vehicles to assist pregnant woman NTHT (born in 1995, residing in Ha Nha commune) in safely crossing the floodwaters and reaching Hoa Vang General Hospital.

Pregnant woman T., 40 weeks into her pregnancy, was showing signs of labor while most roads in the Ha Nha area were cut off and deeply flooded.

The medical forces of the Da Nang City Police also quickly coordinated and implemented an emergency evacuation plan, ensuring the absolute safety of pregnant woman T.
