According to the Daily Mail , Chelsea's board of directors is satisfied with the current squad, including the striker trio Liam Delap, Nicolas Jackson and Joao Pedro. These are all highly rated names in attack. Coach Enzo Maresca plans to rotate players next season when Chelsea has to compete in many arenas.
Instead of pursuing Isak, "The Blues" are considering recruiting Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig to increase midfield depth. This contract could cost Chelsea around 80 million pounds.
In another development, MU also gave up on pursuing Isak along with many other expensive options such as Jackson or Benjamin Sesko. With a price of 150 million pounds for Isak, the "Red Devils" are not capable of competing with Liverpool and other Premier League rivals, after spending more than 130 million pounds on two new players Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha in this transfer period.
Jackson is also out of reach for United, with Chelsea valuing the player at £80-100m. However, there is still the possibility of a swap deal for Alejandro Garnacho, who has been told to look for a new club after being left out of Ruben Amorim's squad for this summer's US tour.
On July 24, Athletic reported that Isak had informed Newcastle of his departure and refused to participate in the 2025 summer tour. He wanted to seek new opportunities at a bigger team like Liverpool.
